Is this your only talking point regarding the NU/Valeo team? Your GPS Bulldogs U11 team in this age group would have gotten absolutely crushed playing the U11 NU/Valeo team.

One lost game out of maybe 25 in total in the spring seaon is not going to define a highly successful team that remains one of the top 5 in state without league points. But guess what! MAPLE is doling out points come fall, so all your NEP cheap points won't add up to the *earned* points + league play that teams, which can actually play soccer, will accumulate! Ha!

Why are they listed under U12 on GotSoccer?

No idea...ask GS. The team was U11 in 13-14 season.

The only reason GS would switch it over to U12 is because you had U12 rostered on for the tournament. It's automatic. So you had U12s.

The v barca team in needham was not the same v barca team in nefc preseason or maple. Different kids for the most part. Most played on v united in needham. So yes one lost game for combined teams since they started somewhat over spring with club pass. Undefeated in U11 green, U12 White, lost one game in Needham in PKs. What's wrong with that?

All U11 teams will automatically switch to U12 in August. If a teams adds an older player, the team is automatically switched to a higher age group.

This happened with the U12 Valeo team last fall, played up with older kid(s) over Columbus Day (so they had to register for that as a U13), got moved within GS because of it, got GS points for the result, then moved back down in GS to U12 and kept the points.

I know only because it was covered a hundred-million times on TS in another thread.

So before anybody starts throwing stones on this one, be aware that it has happened to another club in this age group already.

Regardless, I remember that Valeo thing. I never heard of having to register as an older team to play up as teams would be forced to alter their rosters for certain tournaments and then change them back. This would not foster confidence in team rankings and GS would not approve.
VW was different. Birth year age groups. No choice.

Don't need to change age groups to play up, but you do need to change age groups if your roster includes a kid that is older.

Nothing wrong with that at all, just how it works apparently via GS... which is odd, because you can go back and keep the points anyway. Lot of administrative work for nothing.
