Your son belongs to a different club and you are at a camp run by Valeo yet you are talking about Newton United. Really?

My son takes clinics and camps from a lot of different clubs, I frequently ask parents about their experience with the present club. Things they like and things they don't like. It is a little better of a source than TS.

Then that conversation usually leads why they chose one over another. And in this specific post -- I was asking the Dad why did they choose Valeo vs. NU given they lived close to both.

4 NU kids added to the top 11v11 V team needing decent players. What is the big deal? Everyone (who participated) made out well. This is not the end of the story my friends, just the beginning.

They were over before they started. They knew who they wanted. You came over to join a B team and fund the good teams. Sorry you're finding this out now. Emails have already gone out.

My son was at the tryouts on Tues and we will be bringing him for a second tryout although I don't think we will play for Valeo if offered a spot.

I spent more of my time watching a group of Valeo boys that were clearly on their best team. Most of them had Valeo shirts and some of them might have been NU boys mixed in. This group of boys reminded me of the alpha males in a wolf pack vying for dominance. They were very, very good, but the level of intensity and aggression was not something that I think the majority of players were up to. If this is the type of intensity your kid is looking for, then Valeo is the place.

Wow, no wonder the Valeo haters are going nuts! Obviously not from Valeo parent simply posting what he saw. Sounds about right but they will add some outstanding players from Newton. It's V and NEFC in this age group for the next several years.

Now please resume the whacky parents, diving players barrage. Seems to help you cope.

People get all worked up when they see "academy" in front of a team name. Pick a team that has the best players so your son can achieve what they have. No coach in the world can make him better unless he's challenged and has "role models" on his team. Unless, of course you want your kid to be the "star" of his little pre-academy team.
