Have not thought about it this way. Interesting, how many NU kids made the top Valeo team in each age group?
The whole "merge" could have been scam, coined by Valeo to eradicate competition in the area. They may keep the NU parents-coaches as a safety insurance until all NU kids are scattered among the different clubs. And then will kick them out as well. ?????

Having watched the NU U11 team play at the NEFC preseason, no more than 4 kids should make a top team.

Even though the entire team made it to the finals? Sorry, but they could not have done that with 4 players. On that note, Valeo earned semi-final status so your logic is a bit twisted, eh?

I love that two groups of parents that used to say horribly inappropriate things about each other now have to share a sideline. That's a lot of time and money to spend only to associate with people you dislike.

More appropriate question would be how many Valeo kids made the NU team. Not many.

Can't really go by anonymous posts, can we? We choose to judge people in person.

My son was from a different club and he was at Beast training this summer. I was talking to some Valeo parents. There are definitely some Dads from Newton that are very much aware of NU and their coaches and there is no love lost.

This may have changed over the course of the season so only time will tell.

But I could imagine having a large number of V Team #1 players move down to V Team #2 because of the NU merger.

Every year parents can expect some players dropping down to Team #2 but it is not typical for a whole other team #1 to come in and try to replace your team #1. That can not go over well for the new Team #2 players that weren't on the bubble all season.

Except that it is a 8 v 8 team coming on to a pieced together 11 v 11 team that previously played 8 v 8 in the fall to a larger, real 11 v 11 team. The 11 v 11 spring roster had to have had some 2nd tier team kids on it to fill it up unless they had some tryouts in the winter. I also remember NU and Valeo moving kids around with the club pass for the spring. I know I am being overly analytical here but I am sure that some of the Valeo kids on the larger roster knew they were on borrowed time anyway. Some NU kids who really did not belong on a top level team will also be moved down or they will go to other clubs.

                      Valeo tryouts

My son was at the tryouts on Tues and we will be bringing him for a second tryout although I don't think we will play for Valeo if offered a spot.

I spent more of my time watching a group of Valeo boys that were clearly on their best team. Most of them had Valeo shirts and some of them might have been NU boys mixed in. This group of boys reminded me of the alpha males in a wolf pack vying for dominance. They were very, very good, but the level of intensity and aggression was not something that I think the majority of players were up to. If this is the type of intensity your kid is looking for, then Valeo is the place.

Wow! Answering your own post. No one comes onto TS to give a compliment. They come on here to promote their club or disparage other clubs. Plain and simple.

Your son belongs to a different club and you are at a camp run by Valeo yet you are talking about Newton United. Really?

4 NU kids added to the top 11v11 V team needing decent players. What is the big deal? Everyone (who participated) made out well. This is not the end of the story my friends, just the beginning.
