so...let me get this straight...you play in a big tournament, make it to the semis, and lose to one of the best teams (supposedly) in the country who then wins it all, and it was somehow a failure ? Which is better for the team, the players, and the club: Bring 16-18 kids to a prestigious tournament, making it to the semifinals or even finals all the while giving all the kids who made the trip good play-time as defined by 40-50% of each game.....or Bring 16-18 kids to the same tournament making it to the semifinals or even finals but having 3 or even 4 kids playing less than 20% of the games?
if you reputation is to advance deep into league play or tournament while shafting the 'lower tier' of U12 players, then I assure you that the number of kids that show up to your tryouts will not be as high as you want both in quantity and quality....unless they have fools for parents. Kids need to play significant amounts of game time. That is a bottom line and more so at the younger ages.Comment
