Why? Is Valeo going to actively duck the better NEP teams to preserve the NU egos? How is the hostile takeover sitting with the old team parents?

As an older U14 parents, we are cautious about EDP. We have been with the club for a couple of years and then it appeared suddenly that NU and their coaches were kind of driving the bus.

Duck by playing u13 Maple blue and by spring against some of the top teams in R1 in EDP?
Sounds like WU and NEFC will not be u12 NEP, so basically the same as Maple u12. Your sons team won't be playing in the top u12 tournament brackets either. So no 'ducking' at all, just the opposite. It would be a complete waist of time as it was last time.

A complete waste of time like your Fall in EDP? Good luck traveling to play Maple Green equivalent teams.

The bus is fine. If you are overly concerned about EDP then talk to the coaches. The bar and level of commitment was explained at the parents meeting. The quality of competition, coaching, players and required practices have improved so not sure what you don't like. It is a voluntary commitment, nobody forced you and there are other options. Maybe NEP with twice a week practices, lower competition and the summers and winters off would be a better fit for you.

I am not sure how you can make these statements for U14. We haven't not had any competitions. The coaching is roughly the same as well as the practices so where is this improvement?

It is true that no one forced us but lets be realistic. Our son was with the team for several years and high school is right around the corner. We really don't want to switch teams so late in the game.

Obviously, younger players and teams know what they are getting into and they do not have a lot invested. But try to be sensitive to the changes that you are bringing to the teams that are aging out may not be something that everyone signed up for and it is really too late to switch.

Please spell check and read what you write. Sounds like you do not know where WUP or NEFC will be. NEFC will FINALLY start training, I hope its not too late.

u14 has a great coach and did very well in the spring. What exactly are you complaining about then, seriously. An extra practice a week, one trip to NY to play tougher games? You made a claim that NU is driving the bus and you or someone else mentioned an NU "hijack" as if EW and other coaches have no say in the decision to raise the level and have somehow been conned. Very disrespectful IMO, to them and NU coaches. And BTW, my son has been with Valeo longer than yours.

Agreed, NEP 'Premier' teams mostly so average. Strange and inaccurate post by confused NEP dad, Valeo hasn't lost to a NEP team in a year and a half, unless you count the combined team for VW penalties after a scoreless tie. Good they will face real competition in Maple u13 blue, stronger than even NEP u13 'Premiership'.

A year and a half...that's funny. Between your original Valeo Barca team and your new Valeo/NU team your combined record in the 13-14 season vs WUP, NEFC, Aztec is 1W-4L-1D. Time to stop the nonsense about how awesome your club is.

I am not part of Valeo, but to say that you don't want change because your son is almost done with club soccer and the changes are an inconvenience is pathetic. Your DOC has a club to run and his success is built on improving the overall level of soccer.

When your team travels to play EDP, stay home. One of the U13's can fill in and will be glad to.
