There is a dad on the u13 valeo team who is ridiculous. We've heard him scream at the linesman and ref, including things like "come on, do your job!" And other obnoxious comments. Even worse, his son missed a shot on net and he screamed "come on, what was that?" at him. He made a fool of himself and we have friends whose kids play for other clubs; this guy has become famous across multiple groups of people and I am not making this up. Why don't you all just let the soccer speak for itself? I don't get it. For the same of your kids, just stop the constant bragging.

Soccer is his only sport and he dreams of this day and night. Time will tell. He is not the most profficient on the Valeo u12's, but hoping he gets better with better coaching. most of the team are okay but very individual in their play and often look at their dads for approval throughout the matches which is a little disturbing to us.

I do not associate with any of the fellow parents because as you can imagine, they are just so off base in their intensity and the pressure they put on their little boys. If I were an academy organization, I would not consider any of these kids just based on the families attitudes. In my humble opinion, they are just okay players but not the best of their age group. That is the truth and I played professionally in Latin America and being honest in my assessment of the team but my son is having fun.

Yep. Me too. There was this Valeo dad who was really nasty, screaming at everyone, including his own son, wife, ref and grandma. From behind the fence. Happened twice. Spanish speaking guy. Not sure what team my son plays on but trust me, I was there.
Is Friday bad fiction night? Did all these morons all fail creative writing?

Anyway, I am sorry to hear that the majority of parents on the Scorpions (or is it GPS) are so intense. It amazes me that your son continues to have fun. I guess he is not that in to soccer. Maybe you should just coach him yourself. My humble opinion.

Fact Check
Can't tell you what is fact and what is fiction. I'm not a Valeo parent nor does my kid play in this age group or against Valeo. I follow this thread because from
A distance crazy can be very funny. I just wanted to point out the the poster said he played professionally in Latin America, not that he was Latin American, there is a big difference. As a pro he could have been from ANYWHERE. Second Latin America consists of all the Spanish and Portuguese speaking countries of the Americas, so speaking Spanish isn't a given either. It could still be a fictitious dad, but not for the reasons you state.

Just as an aside. Valeo does have a coach who has played for several top division professional teams in Brazil. His manipulation of the ball is a thing of beauty. Worth watching practices just for that.
