NYC is having to make budget cuts across the board because of lost Covid tax dollars. There are also plans to fund badly needed mental health services so that cops are making fewer calls that can be handled by mental health workers or social services. Several large cities have been experimenting with his with good results.

NYC cost of living is tough to do on a cop's salary also. Head out to the burbs, make more money, pay less for rent, less stressful job? No brainer

Sorry TC but the non-insane among us know cities are under it budget wise. Tax Revenues were down due to the pandemic and then Trump and the GOP wouldn’t help states and localities.

Now, with a new sheriff in town, cities can at least use the money Biden provides to reform the force rather than rehire those that were let go because Trump wouldn’t fund states and localities through the Pandemic.

Thank you Joe Biden REfunding what will hopefully be better police. If that doesn’t happen, fire them and hire better.
