I’m amazed at how dumb some people are in the face of reality. NOT ONE of the alleged witnesses backs up Ford’s story. NOT ONE. Her therapist’s notes are different than her claim but the therapist must have taken down the notes incorrectly. I’m a victim but I need a stableful of lawyers to protect me from purgery and false claim allegations. Which, by the way, is a felony.

Why do you think she made a claim that can’t be proven or disproven? Could it be bc she knows the mere appearance of impropriety might be enough to block the confirmation, while making certain no one could charge her with a crime. She’s walking the tightrope right now between trying to block the nom and not ending up in jail. I’m guessing she calls the GOP some names and doesn’t testify under some absurd claims of unfairness and safety. You’ll see.

Thus far it looks like there will be no witnesses called, no investigation. It will come down to who is credible in he said v she said. No matter how it comes out neither side will be satisfied and doubts will always remain.

Republicans and trump are playing chess and the rudderless democrats are playing checkers. It is almost comical to me watch them resort to being 100 percent reactive. This is why the FBI needs to investigate. There are so many stories about "evidence" on either side which is being verified by who? The Senate won't let any other witnesses testify. For Anita Hill there was an investigation and both she and Clarence thomas had witnesses. This is what I don't understand - if the GOP can prove both women are lying it's a big win for them. These are now the consequences of allowing mob rule over due process. What is to be said of the 6 " background investigations " by the FBI ? They didn't uncover any of this. The top shelf of investigative ability came up empty. But now, at the 11th hour they surface ?

Let's not get confused and lump everything together. To be clear, I believe the women accusers. That's only as far as what I have read and been told. But they are still allegations without proof. The proof comes from our Judicial System, not the Press or a Legislative body following a Constitutional process. Based on information regarding the definitive plan to disrupt and delay the confirmation , which goes beyond the only Constitutional mandate of " advice and consent " , these accusations become suspect.

Absolute Proof of the allegations are what is necessary, and not to have the Proof be determined by the SCOTUS candidate defending himself. If that is to be the case , it needs to be done in a Court of Law. Not by the Press, Activists and members of both parties in the Senate.
