The Act prohibited the manufacture, transfer, or possession of "semiautomatic assault weapons" as defined by the Act. "Weapons banned were identified either by specific make or model (including copies or duplicates thereof, in any caliber), or by specific characteristics that slightly varied according to whether the weapon was a pistol, rifle, or shotgun"
I don't get it. Gun manufacturers don't even need a lobby, it has to be the weakest lobby of them all. There's probably not one other lobby out there that has their product enshrined in the Constitution. Name one?
You can take down the NRA but it will still be in the Constitution. Real gun control the way Liberals want it is limited by the 2nd amendment.
So, do you really think you fully understand the "liberal" position on gun control?
Do you think that view includes all Democrats, even moderates?
Can you tell us specifically what the official position of the Democratic party or even the "liberal" arm of it towards gun control? Will you be able to cite the sources of your response?
Or is it that you are merely postulating what the NRA and and other conservative lobbyists and political organizations put out there in the "fake" MSM?
With so much contention about NRA monies and advertising in support of specific candidates, can't we see the real issue here is all the money in politics?
Don't you think it time to look at the real game changer and swamp drainer in Washington? You realize it's not a person, but all of us people, don't you?
And how do we do this? Who doesn't see the best way to eliminate the money driving all this as changing how elections and campaigns are done in this country? Who doesn't see the need for Campaign Finance Reform and the public financing of all federal elections? Who doesn't see the need for restricting campaign advertising as well as active campaigning to a window of a few months (3 to 6)?
Could we even hope for the miracle of term limits as well?

Basically after the law passed you could buy the same gun legally it just wouldnt have all the scary stuff on it
But it would perform exactly the same way
The term gerrymander was inspired by an 1812 Massachusetts redistricting scheme that favored the party of Governor Elbridge Gerry. Portraitist Gilbert C. Stuart noted that one new election district had the shape of a salamander. Stuart drew an outline of the district, put a salamander's head on one end, and called the creature a Gerrymander.
The gerrymander has been used by state legislatures ever since. It thrived all the way through the 1950s, when many southeastern states were reapportioned in an effort to weaken the voting power of African Americans. This usually involved the drawing of complex, irregularly shaped election districts. A legislature could divide and fold predominantly African American communities into surrounding districts with large blocs of white voters. Such schemes diluted the vote of African Americans, placed their representation in faraway communities, and effectively prevented African Americans from expressing their collective will in elections.[/QUOTE
Dont have to
I can make a hammer an assault weapon
Jason bourne a magazine
John wick likes pencils
Its a BS term like hate crime-
No. It's not a BS term. If what you say is true, our marines would be carrying #2 pencils and not assault weapons. This is just tired stupid Republican deflection that leverages the below-average intelligence of the Republican snowflake sheep.
