Prevents crappy housing and supports valuations. Be careful what you wish for. Bide your time we all felt this way. Even during 2008.

Most tony towns and residents fight multi unit and low income housing tooth and nail, even though there are state regulations supporting it. NIMBY is alive and well.

But they won’t. We are encouraging them to go South and go to college and make lives where taxes are far lower. My wife and I have given 6 figures of taxes away over the years for no reason. We learned our lesson too late and we want to help our children to do better. There is no reason to live in the Northeast.

The data released by the Census Bureau on Monday showed Connecticut had 3,605,944 residents living in the state and 2,354 overseas residents on April 1, 2020. The actual population gain over the decade for people living in the state was 31,847
Compare and contrast to growth of other 49 states. Was the population growth among givers or takers?? Anyone can make stats sing their tune by omitting other key pieces of data.

Every family i know that has moved from the NE to TX and FL has put their kids in private schools because the public schools were so bad - and that's in supposedly good TX and FL districts.
Nope. Schools are fine in other states too. Staying not to uproot older kids until they graduate HS. No other reason.

The surplus is from fed giveaways and exceptionally high taxes on goods and services prices that have **** up dramatically in 1 year ….. hmmmmm what could the cause be. Furthermore, there is a surplus for one budget year. Did they fix all of the roads and bridges they have neglected for decades or is that cost still looming? All the transportation funds have been allocated to state workers and/or lazy slobs collecting money they don’t deserve generation after generation. Secondly, have the made while the state worker pension funds that they allocated to other things over the past several decades? NOPE. Surplus will be squandered, huge monies are still owed, and when the feds stop bailing out blue cities and states they will be back in this situation in another year or two.

Not the poster but the claim was CT was losing residents, and it isn't. Not huge growth but not in free fall either. Also since it's census data taken in 2020 it won't take into account the many higher income people who have migrated from NY in the last 18 months. CT has always lost older high net worth seniors to the south. That won't ever change, although maybe with more mild winters from global warming more will stay lol. Also I've several friends and family who are just in the thinking/planning phases of retirement and many have zero interest in moving to deep red states no matter how good the weather or taxes are. Nearly everyone I know that's gone to a red state, young or old, is a republican.

There is a risk of myocarditis post Covid infection.
There is a risk of myocarditis post vaccination (increases with each dose)
These are risk are particularly strong in young males.
Since vaccination does not prevent infection, why would anyone increase their risk of myocarditis by getting vaccinated.
I hope you keep injecting your boys.
By the time my son gets to college age, he might be the last man standing.
There will be a very small pool of males that didn’t have their athletic capacity hindered by these injections.

Lol you clearly have no idea. I agree with avoiding uprooting teens if you can, but you'd be shocked at how bad some states are, or how essential it is to be in the few really good districts and the premium prices and taxes you pay for that. That or having to resort to private schools washes out much of your savings. CT families don't know how much better it is here.

The risk is infinitesimally low from the vaccine and is actually higher if you get covid - along with lung issues. My male athlete asked our pediatrician and rolled up his sleeve. D didn't hesitate either because all the speculation about possible fertility issues doen the road are just that - speculation and fear mongering

Ok, as I suggested to the previous poster, you need to look at all of the data. If our population grew by 32k residents but the average population growth in the us was 6.3%, then CT effectively lost population. But, as luck would have it, your data are wrong and CT was actually one of four states in the entire US that did actually lose population between the 2010 census and 2020 census. Don’t believe ME? Great, refute the Census bureau. Please cite your source indicating population grew in that time. NEXT!!!

Where did you live Detroit and LA?? Surprisingly you aren’t the only one in this discussion that has lived in other places. Send your kids to Hartford, new haven, Waterbury, or Bridgeport schools. Plenty of great places to live outside of northeast with great schools.

CT population is fine. Doesn't make the top ten increases or descreases both in sheer numbers or percentages. Growth rates that are too rapid cause their own sets of issues, especially lack of affordable housing.

Strange that on an anonymous forum you don't know who posted what . Seems CT has grown some, not a lot. More importantly it isn't hemorrhaging residents as some(one?) claimed.
