Omicron is no where near as bad as delta. More people getting sick but less people dying and or hospitalized, I dont see the left media reporting that, just keep spewing fear. Make sure everybody continues to live in their bubbles. The left will be the reason why our democracy dies.

This is how the far left handle problems. Point the finger and blame others all while coming up with zero solutions. Dems are soft and are slowly killing this country

OR you could look at South Africa’s data and England’s data, as they were hit ahead of us. I’ll let you google it and learn something today.

You have prepared every excuse possible. But let’s go with your take and yes, let’s shut down youth sports because there are lots of old obese people playing youth sports.

No one is shutting down youth sports. This thread is from last year. Wake up.

Poster didn't say anything about shutting down youth sports, just that the data may notbe the same here bs SA. HS and other sports were running last year without vaccines so there's no reason to stop now.

Youre right, no one has mentioned shutting down sports. I took it upon myself to assume the person talking about 'death metrics' would be thinking about shutting down sports. As always, assuming is wrong, my bad.

Only changes I've heard is masking is back on for HS winter indoor sports. Kids played basketball last year with masks so they can do it again. Last I saw vaccination rates among kids 12-17 in CT is close to 70%, maybe even a little higher. Definitely no need to cancel anything

True everywhere. For the next few weeks the case numbers will only get worse as the impact of holiday spreader events are felt. But how hospitals are faring is what matters. I think 90% of CT adults are vaxd. Thst still leaves a large but hopefully manageable number of possible patients. In TN its only like 55%. That's many more vulnerable adults that could clog up TN hospitals.

If you keep testing everyone every day of course the numbers will go up. Problem is that people taking the home rapid tests only report the positive ones and not the negative ones.

I bet many do not report positive ones... Why would one report it? Just sit it out at home and move on.

Agreed the actual count is unknown. Could be better or worse. I bet home trst results are woefully underreported. With the difficulties in getting tested in general, no doubt some who maybe should be tested because of close exposure or minor symptoms aren't bothering either. I've seen a few test sites with cars snaking around forever

Anyway, keep an eye the hospital admission numbers. A lot of people are showing up at the ER, not that sick but nervous. Philadelphia recently begged residents to stay home unless they're experiencing more critical symptoms
