The CIAC has now set forth that masks must now be worn ( with a few exceptions, swimming, gymnastics, etc) by all athletes and coaches regardless of vaccination status.

No issue with it. They're trying to keep kids in school and things as normal as possible for them. Omicron is insanely contagious and while you.may not get severely ill (especially if vaccinated) you still have to isolate for several days to avoid giving it to others. It's very disruptive.

Give it another couple weeks to know hospitalization and death metrics, they are delayed.

Thats based on South African data...à nation with a far younger average age, almost no obesity, and tests showed at least 80% had some prior Covid exposure. Your mileage may vary
