As someone who runs a company plus has their own insurance to deal with, Thank you. I'd also like to insure unvaccinated covid patients aren't taking up hospital beds and staff time and emotional energy. How hard it must be to treat people for an entirely preventable disease.

I have noticed that this thread use to attract more similar posters. Most probably died or wised up after a close brush with COVID. There still one die hard out there. Good luck and Godspeed friend. Who ever you are, no amount of surfing the internet for random info to drop is going to go head to head with a whole world of scientists who are saying the same thing. The difference in all this is that you had a front row seat to the ups and downs, the triumphs and the doubt that the data provides on any experiment. This is why science uses peer review and reproducible research to prove theories and it can take decades for theories to become laws. We all gained access to a vaccine in record time, but with that is some level of uncertainty. Some want to overplay that uncertainty for their agenda - what ever that may be. One thing is clear though. Vaccine hesitancy was a growing phenomenon before the pandemic. Similarly a growth in “flat earthers” was witnessed despite thousands of years of knowledge and first hand experiences possible to everyone. Blame social media and America’s adversaries who are looking to create and exploit divisions in our society. Eroding trust, information, and value systems makes us a weaker opponent. Fully vaccinated have higher infection rates in San Diego than unvaccinated recently. Vaccines aren’t protecting the old or Ill. So, if you are low risk (ie children from 5-11), then what really is the purpose of the vaccine?? Once again if you are in decent health and under 60 (closer to 70) then the vaccine doesn’t do much of anything. As a meme I just saw mentioned there is a 99.9% chance that people won’t sh|t their pants, why aren’t we mandating the use of diapers for everyone??

FLu deaths per year average round 35K, a really bad year 50K or so. We're 20 months into Covid and we're at 700K. Many healthcare providers already mandated annual flu shots for staff, just not for regular jobs or even first responders. There also is an effective and easy to administer flu anti-viral (Tamiflu) where as many of the Covid treatments are costly and not easily administered (an anti-viral was only just approved).

this is about freedom plain and simple. nobody wants to be forced to get something they dont want, for whatever reason thats their right. I dont think the government should be forcing this on anybody. BUT this kind of freedom comes in all different shapes and sizes. As a person I should have the freedom to choose to get it or not. As an employer, they have the choice to mandate it or not. As an employee I have the choice to either follow that mandate or not. Again its about choice, your freedom to choose. You make that choice and you live with what happens next. Its not that difficult to understand.

You cant complain about freedom and turn around and complain you lost your job because they mandated the vaccine and you chose not to get it. You had the choice. I have a family, I choose my family's needs over my own. If me getting a vaccine lets me keep my job and keeps my house, food for kids, cloths for kids then so be it.

Who has made it more political? It wasn't the left. It started with Trump attacking scientists, health experts, blue state governors who had more strict mandates and praising the red state ones who didn't. The rest of the GQP latched on. Who are the ones screaming at city council or school board meetings? Who is even threatening politicians or health experts or school board members trying to protect the public?
