God I hope so. I'm moderately cautious and all, certainly vax'd, but I'm sick to death of it all. This time last year we thought all would be well, then it blew up over the fall. Now this fall is shaping up to be a cluster phuck. My main concern is that students of all ages be back in classrooms, not in front of computer for another semester.

The last few year, especially last 18 months, has us reconsidering our plans to retire down south. Turns out we prefer to be surrounded by reasonable, thinking people. Of course CT has its share of MAGAs, but they're certainly not the majority by any stretch.

Biden would never issue a mask mandate because it is a local issue. The only place he might possibly do it is for schools but even then he knows its such a political third rail he'll have state and local officials take the heat

Have you been out anywhere lately? Most CT businesses have signs requesting customers to wear masks and staff have masks. I'd say at least 75% are wearing them. Local school boards are starting to announce masks will be required in school.

I was in FL 2 weeks ago for work and you had to search for people wearing masks.. Vaccination rates are very different between the two states. DeSantis won't allow mask mandates (although some school officials are defying that) Do more CT residents believe in science? Does Lamont need to mandate when most residents are being reasonable?

The science says I have a .1% chance of being hospitalized as a covid vaccinated person. So why the mask? To protect unvaccinated? Maybe the young who can’t get it yet, but what is that populations hospitalization and death rate? .6% for 0-4 year olds. 4-17? 1%. I follow math!

Yeah, kids can't be vaccinated so teachers especially should be vaccinated and masked up. Why? Because what will happen is there will be outbreaks at schools, kids and teachers will have to quarantine yada yada yada = more shutdowns.

do not need entire classrooms being sent home for weeks because your dirty kid was running around all weekend huffing COVID at the indoor gun range.
