what is funny is now Yale is requiring all students to test regardless of vax status. He tells me of a lot of buyer’s remorse from students who only got vax because it was mandatory & didn’t want to test frequently.
Requirements at Yale were put in place long before the curve ball the Delta variant threw into the mix (process started back in May or June). I'm sure others were already planning on getting vaccinated and/or didn't want to jump through the hoops of getting an exemption (medical or religious belief)

Sorry, meant requirements were announced back in May/June and the exemption process kicked off in early July

My two college kids' schools require vaccinations if you want to be on campus in class or in dorms; otherwise you're distance learning. They announced that months ago as did countless other universities. My kids were relieved to get vaccinated and don't have any so called "remorse". What BS. If they have to wear masks (actually they do) and still get tested so be it. They just want to be as back to normal as possible after a really crappy 18 months.

Delta's easy transmissibility and the step drop off in vaccinations have upended the plans of many - schools, workplaces, entertainment, travel search engines are reporting a drop off in searches. Thanks (vast majority) republican antivaxers for f-ing it up for the majority of Americans who are responsible.

Tuesday SW, American and Delta will NOT REQUIRE employees to get vaccinated.
          See how that works.

It is your compliance that is dragging this out.
Hey Con - google is your friend. That was utterly false. In addition to below, many cancelled flights were Spirit Airlines, the Greyhound of air travel, which has been a cluster f uck for two weeks now.

Fact check: Flight cancellations due to weather, labor shortage, not vaccine mandates

Just in: The CIAC is currently not requiring COVID-19 vaccinations to participate in fall sports but are recommending them.

It's fine. They got through it all last year relatively well, a lot of HS kids are vax'd already, CT has a good vax rate/low case rate. They had to make a call (should have weeks ago) given the lead times to get vax'd, but truthfully you know it would have wound up in court.

I was a couple of statements from 2 Doctors . No hassle. 2 phone calls.
now he is hassled with mask & testing the same as All Others.
the point is. We knew this would happen. Masking & testing are never going away. Testing is 100 billion a year. It’s not going away no matter how bad it is.
                mask are feel good talisman
He & my wife & I were thrilled we good exempt him. It’s an unnecessary risk

Trying to coerce them is more like it.
they hold out the carrot of not needing to quarantine if exposure
                  as long as no symptoms
I guarantee that this will change right before season starts.
they will force the vaxxed to quarantine for a exposure regardless of no symptoms
It’s a bait & switch and this is what makes it coercion

It’ll be a real shame if he doesn’t make it through his freshman year. I’m predicting the first week this fall get covid after his first frat party. I cannot imagine you wasting his life all because you are trying to prove to yourself you are a conservative. Life is a terrible thing to waste.

Wait until cases keep going up and they'll stop allowing unvaccinated people on campus. Kid will be stuck in his dorm all the time, all for 75K. Then again, he's probably lying about having a kid at Yale :)

The nation's two largest teacher's unions now support vaccine and mask mandates. Fortunately vaccination rates among teachers are very high. But now that four teachers in Broward County FL have died of Covid, more school districts are giving Ron DeathSantis the big middle finger and putting mask mandates in place. Kids under 12 can't get vaccinated and should be protected as much as possible. Sure most will do fine but large outbreaks are disruptive to learning and life.

Yale has already started rolling back/delaying the return to campus for some staff. It's only a matter of time before they have some sort of hybrid model for students.

All I want for all my kids, especially in college, is a quasi normal year. One is a college senior and the last 18 months have just sucked ass. Online learning, no study abroad, cancelled internship....Then there's all the younger kids who have had huge academic setbacks already.

Thanks anti--vaxxers for ruining any shot kids had for some normalcy this fall. You're why we can't have nice things.

Teachers Unions are the most evil organizations on the planet.

I love how all the liberals blame the unvaccinated. Have any of you taken a look at Israel lately? Huge increase in COVID cases (5% positivity rate) as well as hospitalizations. 85-90% of those hospitalized are fully vaccinated. Did you know Israel has the one of the highest levels of fully vaccinated people in the world? Over 80% of the Israeli population is fully vaccinated. Go ahead and keep blaming the unvaccinated. The vaccine just isn't working the way we intended.
