It think it's a combination of questions of what happens with the variants, how protective the current vaccines are, how many get vaccinated (since many have said they won't).

Unlike Trump, Fauci changed his guidance after more information became available. Trump went mask less 24/7, held super spreader events, killed Herman Cain, got it himself and got very sick (way worse than what they first revealed)
