As for restaurant workers/owners? Yes they're struggling and should be helped. So should workers in other industries that haven't and can't return to normal yet. But demand for dining out, bars, travel, entertainment won't improve until covid is in the rear view window. A large portion of the population just isn't interested in any of that until they think it's safer.
Maybe because people were playing in those stadiums......NFL season just wrapped up....so they are available now. Come on....think for yourself man

Restaurant workers want to get back to work, but govt wont let them....rest of world wants teachers to work in live classroom, but teachers union doesnt want them to work......thats the diff. I would fire them all and hire some new teachers fresh out of college who want work and who students can relate to. Most old teachers need to go....they are letches' on the public system

My 70+ year old parents in FL don't live in a senior community (which are the ones getting vaccinated first) and have been online day and night trying to get an appointment anywhere. They can drive a few hours, certainly can sit in a car for a few hours. Sitting out in the FL sun for 8+ hours like sites are doing? Not so much. Some people even camp out. It's nuts.
Good, they are outside and not congregating indoors, thats what we want. 8 hours + a real nice tan.....it is winter and 74' in tampa....get outside

First rule of TS: your experience does not reflect that of all. FL's vaccination problems are well documented. Thankfully CT is doing ok so far but their age cutoff is still 75+. Once they lower it there will be another rush to get that group done.

The US already had a teacher shortage pre Covid - about 300K short each year nationally. Not sure where you think all these new teachers will come from. Get 'em vaccinated so kids can go back to school. Teachers should be a national priority, not state by state.

In addition all hospitals, many doctor's offices, and many drive thru locations, there are hundreds of Publix's administering the vaccine.

It's super easy to find something local regardless of county:

              The stadium idea is stupid.
No it isn't. I have a bunch of older friends and family there still battling to get it. Availability and even Publix appointments vary wildly location to location.

Rep. Ron White (R) just died from covid. White was an anti-vaxxer, covid is not a big deal supporter.

Did Trump meet with Officer Sicknick’s family yet?

I'm here right now. Have family all over the state. Availability does vary widely but that's a supply issue. Demand is super high right now. That will not be the case in two or three months. You can't expect to get an appointment and get your shot within a couple days. Everyone i know and their friends have received it or are scheduled to receive it.

Please explain. I doubt you can or even will. But enlighten me oh great liberal!
You're assuming I'm a liberal. Or even a Dem. More fool you.

Trump was, and is, toxic. He grossly mismanaged this pandemic, and now Biden has to START, let alone FINISH, what Trump couldn't even bother to acknowledge. So what if Biden narrowly misses his target of herd immunity by the summer. The fact is, we WILL get herd immunity under Biden's administration, we WILL reopen under his administration, and we WILL get back to normal under his administration. And all in time for the midterms. And the Dems will ride that wave, unless the GOP get rid of the alt-right psychopaths, and move back towards the center where they had cross-party support

Did he ever call Herman Cain's family after his Tulsa rally infected the former presidential candidate and cancer survivor? No, and no.

Problem is there's so many anti vaxxers/"covid is like a cold" believers that we might not ever get herd immunity (70%). Plus f any of these mutated strains start outsmarting the virus that will only create more skepticism with vaccinations.

That is exactly what I was saying. Yes demand is high, but it is not impossible to get vaccinated as my in-laws have in Florida. They scheduled it and it took about a month. I think people are just complaining because they can’t get it as quickly as they want. These people have entitlement issues. Many in CT are like this. The world revolves around me and I should get vax before you because I am more important.

Not an anti vaxer, but I am going to wait and see.
Let’s see what things look like in 6-9 months.

Herd immunity is a myth. Look at measles there is always cases popping up. even though we have heard immunity. Biden should distance himself from this terminology. It will end up like the flu with an amount acceptable for deaths.
