Originally posted by Unregistered View PostAnd just like that Israel’s demand for the vaccine has dried up. They were doing 150-200k a day with long lines. Yesterday they only managed 77k. No lines. Vaccine site’s ended up dumping 1,000’s of doses because they had anticipated it to be like the days before. When they realized what was happening they began offering the vaccine to anyone who would take it. And still wasted 1,000’s of doses. The same will happen here. So the question is why has demand dried up? Is something wrong with the vaccine? Are the adverse events to severe? Is the vaccine effective. Based on what is occurring in Israel it is clear the vaccine is not 95% effective. Much much lower. Particularly for the elderly and frail. The ones who need it.

South Africa down 88% in 22 days.
That is falling off a cliff.
“Despite a supposedly more infectious [South African] variant & no meaningful [C19] restrictions," via "Post-card from Cape Town" lockdownsceptics.org/2021/02/02/lat…, South African C19 cases were down from 369/million on Jan. 9, 2021 to 44/million Feb. 1, 2021 worldometers.info/coronavirus/co…

If the addition stimulus is needed, it should be extremely targeted.

Winter respiratory viruses have one, or two, winter peaks. The fact every country has falling cases is wonderful news and evidence of endemicity. It is not evidence that the different interventions in each country simultaneously worked.

Lockdown was a overreaction to protect the rich.
I have been advocating this for 10 months.

The hardest hit industries that are still struggling, and coincidentally can't be done readily from home, will not recover until Covid is in the rearview mirror. Travel, entertainment, restaurants etc They are massive sectors of our economy. Fix Covid and people start going out more, traveling again, going to see concerts, hitting the craps tables
