And what rule is that? The point is anyone can make it if they want it and work at it regardless of the color of their skin.

you dont know that he isnt a role model or an example to some
the problem is some of the other role models that people follow from the minority community

plenty of ways to make loads of cash-
much harder to sustain making loads of cash and enjoying a long life- thats what the OP is talking about (working hard, building wealth and doing it legally)

Not only is he an exception to the rule but his experience highlights why many whites are pissed off: minorities given opportunities based on skin color not merit. One can argue how much is real vs perceived but perceptions usually overtake reality. Trump not so subtle hinted the only reason Obama got into Harvard was because he was black. Obama can run intellectual circles around Trump, but it played well to Trump's angry base.

And if the argument is that hard work in America is rewarded then why are so many in Trump's base so angry? Why aren't they "pulling themselves up by their bootstraps"?

Science. Seems funny now what a ridiculous statement that was. People took that as scientific facts then.

                  that is the argument
and Trumpers are not pissed about the hard work- they are pissed that the people being rewarded arent the people doing the hard work or as libs like to say
                  doing their share

We are approximately one hour from the media turning from "Trump is the worst person who has ever lived" to "[FILL IN THE BLANK 2024 COMPETITIVE REPUBLICAN] is even worse than Trump. I mean, at least Trump [FILL IN THE BLANK]."

DeSantis is my leading candidate right now.

The OP here. So a few misguided lines of thinking to breakdown:

                        1) Exception to what rule?
                        2) Yes many whites are pissed off at minority quotas at higher education institutions which contradicts the notion that there is white priveledge to begin with. Affirmative action which has been in place for decades leveled the playing field. Now new excuses have arisen in its place but democratic policies should be mostly to blame.
                        3) Trump's assumption on Obama may have been right with Harvard. Obama may run circles around Trump if the subject is say Homer, but for anything practical Trump is the clear thinker.
                        4) If hard work in America is rewarded then why are so many in Trump's base so angry you say? Simple, because the county has neglected the impact of globalization. The working class (which were mostly democrats in the past) has been squeezed by the introduction of an new uneven playing field which can care less about skin color. That is the introduction of hundreds of million of cheap laborers (i.e. China) that would work for pennies on the dollar. There was no equivalent affirmative action for them until Trump came around.

                          I do not support Biden.
It was a good speech by Biden, but actions will speak louder than words
I’m not holding my breath that he will do the right thing, but I will give him the benefit of the doubt
To unify the country he’ll need to stand up to his illiberal base...doubtful, but we can hope

Well said. I see the divide as not being along racial lines (care less about skin color)but along the socioeconomic/class & wokeness. The upper class pride themselves on education, wealth and wokeness. Everyone else is subservient to them. I think this is the uneven playing field you mentioned. This is going decimate the middle class. We are moving to 3rd world status of haves and have nots. With a huge gap between. This never ends well.

Agreed. The middle class being dragged down by globalization policies of the past, the upper class being lifted by the perpetual printing of money and fed easing of the last decade.

WHO - releases guidelines for turning down the cycles on PCR test.
PCR positive is no longer = Covid. You are not Covid now unless you get a second test to confirm it, and are presenting clinical symptoms. We shall see what the net impact of this indeed is.
If we turn down the cycles and you must have symptoms over 90% of cases go away just like that.
I hope Biden has the political will to do it. It would earn big points with me. I am not a fan of Pops.
