looks like the small group training is over! normal team training can begin this week.
Good luck to those without lights!
we don't need lights. we never had lights and our college placement is the bestest in the state......blah blah blah blah college placements blah blah coaches getting side money to get our kids into college blah blah
Correct on the first part. Lol. But the Democrats are responsible for the rest. Biden has now been handed a 40 point lead in the 4th quarter of the Super Bowl. Vaccine to beat the pandemic. Check. A beaten economy certain to rebound once the vaccine has been administered. Check. A red hot stock market. Check. Both chambers of congress. Check. I don’t think even an imbecile like Biden could screw this up, but I don’t want to underestimate his abilities.
Oh, just wait,he will. You can be certain to hear over and over that everything negative that happens until Biden drops dead is trumps fault.
Finally some good news: for the first time literally in months the US is finally seeing a slight decline in cases and more importantly hospitalizations. Hopefully it will be sustained. Positivity rates are going down some also.
However that doesn't mean we can toss the masks and open back up yet. There's still far too much covid out there and the more communicable variant is gaining a foothold. We will still lose a lot of people in the next two months. The finish line is in sight, but don't let off the gas
This was predicted a couple months ago. New infections peaked January 3rd. As millions of people have been vaccinated already and about 1million are being vaccinated each day now, the curve will continue to go downward. The virus will find it more and more difficult to find new hosts.
Also predicted Florida doing an outstanding job administering the vaccine. As of two days ago Florida crossed the 1M vaccinated milestone (with data delay actual milestone day was probably a week ago). In addition 64% or 640,000 of those were people over the age of 65. Florida currently vaccinating at a rate of 500k per week. It took CT more than a month to vaccinate 186K.
The sedition caucus has shown that the right wing is capable of everything. It is ironic that you storm the capital building and are now saying that troops are not needed. if you would have had a peaceful demonstration rather than murder five people you might be able to claim this show of force is not needed. However, the minority right wing is the source of tyranny making everyone else live in fear.
murdered 5 people? that's why people call it fake news...if there were 5 murders than there should be 5 murder cases coming up...no?...typical lib liar

You do realize that normal team training actually makes it easier on clubs without lights? They can hold indoor training at full capacity.
When your kid plays on the intramural team at CCSU she can look fondly back at all of the evenings spent outside in 25 degree weather training at night. Might help her win the t shirt!

CT has vaccinated more of its population on a percentage basis than FL has (almost 7 times the population size). DeSantis has turned the state into vaccine tourism. Meanwhile I have FL relatives - full time, not even snow birds - that can't get vaccinated. Finding it is like playing whack-a-mole. Appointments go in two seconds and many older residents can't camp out in line for hours on end.

well there's the 40-45% who said they won't get vaccinated, but the elderly are getting vaccinated and they're the most vulnerable. With that many not getting vaccinated those of us who want it will get it faster. I just wish they'd force the others to sign a waiver saying they won't seek medical treatment if they refuse to get it.

Not the poster and I agree all the media should stop using that figure - keeling over from a heart attack has nothing to do with the insurrection. One insurrectionist shot, one police officer killed. That said, it could have been way worse. Many of the invaders had weapons and the police could have opened fire but did not.
Getting out in front of the headlines on the 20th....no doubt, they will put a headline out suggesting trump is doing something no other president has done, when in fact, he has done it the least
As he enters the home stretch of his White House tenure, Donald Trump has used his clemency power less often than any president in modern history, according to data from the U.S. Department of Justice. Trump’s sparse use of pardons, commutations and other forms of official leniency stands in sharp contrast to his predecessor, Barack Obama, who used the clemency power more frequently than any chief executive since Harry Truman.
As of Nov. 23, Trump had granted clemency 44 times, including 28 pardons and 16 commutations. That’s the lowest total of any president since at least William McKinley, who served at the turn of the 20th century. Obama, by comparison, granted clemency 1,927 times during his eight-year tenure, including 212 pardons and 1,715 commutations. The only modern president who granted clemency almost as infrequently as Trump is George H.W. Bush, who granted 77 pardons and commutations in his single term.
Except Trump's pardons were mostly for friends, ardent supporters and lowlifes (like the Blackwater war criminals). Many of Obama's were commuting absurd drug sentences and the like. Trump also circumvented the normal Justice Department reviews for pardons and just did what he pleased. Shocking I know.

are you saying that circumventing the norms in government is troublesome?

Most of them are there for a reason, especially when it comes to the law. I thought you Trumpers liked law and order? You think it's cool he's pardoning all his pals, Jared's dad, possibly even himself and his kids? Yes, yes Clinton pardoned Marc Rich, but by and large the pardon/commutation process by other presidents is nearly entirely used for people the presidents do not know at all. The requests normally go through a review process by DOJ first.
