If people will not follow public health officials. Their policies are therefore failures. Public health lost all public trust. That is on them for their nefarious motives, policies, and actions over years & decades.

My main takeaway is gov't leaders and public health leaders should realize by now that NPI stringency does not work and may make COVID worse. Even if it doesn't, the non-COVID harms are immense.
