So I actually work for CVS and they have been planning a “cold chain” (a supply chain of containers, freezers, special trucks, and dry ice) for at least the last four months. I’m all for holding Trump and team to account on this particular aspect (getting CVS and WAG up and running on disbursing shots to long term care) things are decently planned for a scalable roll out. Problem right now is that some states are just getting into this phase now and others it will still be weeks out. This phase should really zoom, but then if FL distribution to seniors is any indication things will slow again because of the challenge of focusing on specific groups of folks, scheduling them, and how life will get in the way of a two shot regiment. For this CVS has a good scheduling system, new handheld scanners, and outside booths that were tested this fall during the flu shots. Think they are ready, but I wish we’d wise up a bit and relax the rules as to who is eligible; it just drives confusion. What’s an essential worker?? Is it seniors or all Medicare eligible. Many people in this group cannot navigate the health system normally, now we are adding new terms and rules that will mystify anyone trying to assist them. If Biden is smart he’ll run this like a lottery draft. Interpreting whether one is eligible is just going to slow things down with 50 different sets of rules.

My understanding is Pfizer targeted mostly to hospitals where very low temperature capabilities exist and Moderna targeted much more broadly where only a regular refrigerator is needed like at a CVS or WGS. TX and FL should be ahead of most states soon as they’ve figuring out the harder part ahead of other states in administering to a broader population. As long as they keep it simple, like age criteria (ID) then I think it should go as smoothly as administering the flu vaccine.

You do not think Trump escalated a race war...”Proud boys stand back and standby”. Standby for what? The groups sole purpose is to suppress minority rights/advancement in society. Imagine if Biden were to say: “ANTIFA, if you even exist outside of Twitter, stand back and standby”. Don’t you think that would be considered an escalation? No Obama actually tried to deescalate with things like “the beer summit”. He could have easily went after Police departments who were still marauding around antagonizing the blacks like it was still 1960. But he didn’t. He tried to rise above the fray. Not sure if that approach helped or hurt, but you tell me. How would you act if the police randomly kicked in your door in the middle of the night. Would you submit? Would you trust they were truly police and their intentions. You would not. You would go into Clint Eastwood fantasy mode. Be honest with yourself. There is also the fact that CV is not that problematic as a virus. Not very lethal and many don’t even have any symptoms. People will not rush out for a vaccine for something they didn’t even know they had.

Then hurry up and catch it. Host a COVID party for your friends and family. Sure this isn’t small pox, but the death rate is highly correlated with the ratio of patients to medical professionals. If there is not enough resources there to administer the steroids and other meds to help you dodge the nasties symptoms then you are down a River without a paddle. Will you make it...maybe.

If by above the fray, you mean ignore it, then you are spot on with respect to obama on racial injustice and the wealth gap. He will be looked upon by historians as deaf and blind to the two greatest threats to the American way of life since the fall of the wall.
