It’s fascinating to see all the “experts” who’d never blame the public for their collective bad decisions leading to poverty, addiction, or even the spread of STDs and HIV now lead the charge doing just that with Covid.

Different poster but that link shows a huge range in cases, particularly when cases are climbing and less predictable. They look spot on when cases were low and steady. They also don't have in numbers for the last 2 weeks. Garbage in, garbage out.

“They’re very expensive and difficult to ramp up and produce at scale,” Dowdy said. “Do I really think these will move the needle on case fatality on a national level? Probably not.”

If you are a friend of Trump or super rich your life will be saved by this treatment. Otherwise you will be part of the many suckers who listened to Trump and his denial that Covid exists.

Come on Snowflake. Even low level critical thinkers like yourself can use a mouse. A few clicks will show you comparisons to most COVID modelers, even one of the most inaccurate (IHME) model MSM loved to use.

              It’s all under control.

Trump last said anything concerning covid on November 9 when he said that Biden wouldn’t do anything regarding covid so you know he is on top of things.

Yesterday, 2,216 Americans died from covid-19 infections. 178,200 more were diagnosed with covid. Trump is on pace to kill 12,000 Americans a week. With Christmas a month away, and if he tries hard to continue to do nothing as he has been doing for months - he should easily be able to kill 310,000 Americans by Christmas. The push will be on then to hit 400,000 dead before leaving office on Jan 20.

How is Trump doing compared to elsewhere in the world? Well, Germany, with a population of about 82 million or a touch more than a quarter of the US population, has had 963,000 cases, and 14,832 deaths since February. Hey, that’s Europe. What about say Canada? Nearby. We share lots of traits with Canadians. Pop. of about 38 million so about 15 percent of the US pop. What are Canada’s numbers? We are probably doing way better. Let’s see - total covid cases to date: 345,000. Deaths; 11,681. So, if Canada were doing as great at defeating covid as the US, it would only have 40,000 dead instead of the 11,681 they have suffered. Hey, wait a second ....

Took us 5 months to have 2M cases. We hit 2M cases in the last two weeks.

                But we're turning the corner!

Do you think people get tested just for sh*ts and giggles. They get tested because they're symptomatic or have been exposed to someone who is symptomatic. POSITIVITY rates are going up which means more people actually have it. https://coronavirus.jhu.edu/testing/individual-states.

                    Hospitalizations are going up https://covidtracking.com/data/chart...y-hospitalized

More people are sick. Period. https://www.cbsnews.com/news/us-covid-19-cases-testing/

Yes , but the rate of positivity is going up also. So are hospitalizations and deaths. More cases. More sick people. More hospitalizations. More death.

                            Why positivity rates matter

"The percent positive is a critical measure because it gives us an indication how widespread infection is in the area where the testing is occurring—and whether levels of testing are keeping up with levels of disease transmission.

What does a high percent positive mean?

A high percent positive means that more testing should probably be done—and it suggests that it is not a good time to relax restrictions aimed at reducing coronavirus transmission. Because a high percentage of positive tests suggests high coronavirus infection rates (due to high transmission in the community), a high percent positive can indicate it may be a good time to add restrictions to slow the spread of disease.

                            How high is too high?

The higher the percent positive is, the more concerning it is. As a rule of thumb, however, one threshold for the percent positive being “too high” is 5%. For example, the World Health Organization recommended in May that the percent positive remain below 5% for at least two weeks before governments consider reopening. If we are successful in bringing coronavirus transmission under control, this threshold might be lowered over time. To further relax social restrictions and allow very large gatherings or meetings of people traveling from many different areas, for example, we would want a lower threshold.

As of July 2020, some countries (for example, Australia, South Korea, and Uruguay) and U.S. states (for example, New York, Maine, and Connecticut) were well below the 5% threshold, with 1% of tests or fewer being positive—while other countries (for example, Mexico and Nigeria) and states (for example, Mississippi, Nevada, and Florida) had percent positive levels higher than 15%, far above this cutoff."

CT positivity rates has been in the mid 4% range which is still good(but not as good as this summer). But we still have more people getting sick which means greater risk even more get from them, as well as pressure on the healthcare system

almost any death with a positive COVID test becomes a COVID death.

When prevalence increases, more people get incidental positive tests. People who die of other causes get classified as COVID deaths.

This is what is happening in the US right now

It effects everything. 2 million test a day equals more hospitalization counted as “CV positive”
Regardless of what they are treated for.
This also effects deaths as anyone who ever tested positive is counted as “CV death”
Positive % is messed up too. They use antigen test on asymptomatic with a lot of false positives then run a PCR test to confirm. False positive from antigen confirmed with PCR still counts as 1 case and then if a person test positive on both antigen and confirmed with PCR that one person counts as 2 cases. This skews positive %

                                Are people really this stupid!!!
Forget the amount of tests, forget the positivity rate. Pull your head out of your ass and talk with a doctor or nurse in a hospital - (my kid is). People are dying from Covid in the ICUs. Not from other reasons, from Respiratory failure from Covid. It’s not hype, it’s not Democrats vs Republicans, it’s happening. It was happening before, and it’s happening again. Difference now is they have better treatments and knowledge, yet deaths are higher due to the shear amounts (more recoveries - but higher deaths due to numbers). Take the time and talk with someone working in the ICUs, you’ll gain a lot of clarity - everything is just numbers that can be manipulated any way you want.
