Use your brain. Cloth masks block very little. Ask any doctor. It is not an impermeable surface and droplets are very small. You can’t see them. Smh. I’m amazed that there are people that believe masks make a difference. If they did, why is FL dropping in cases and deaths in spite of being fully open and masks being the rarity? Cmon, man! Wake up. The scientists are making it up as they go.

I see more people wearing medical masks than cloth, although I don't like the waste they create. N95s are preferred but still not readily available and should go to medical/frontline workers (why haven't we gotten better at this? Wasn't Jared in charge of increasing the supply lol?). When it comes to fabric masks there are is a huge variation in quality. Some are very good with multiple layers even removable filters. The worst are those stupid pull up gaiters, they do nothing.

And the poster was right - sneeze in a mask just once. Happened to me a few times during spring allergy season (and the stares you get are always fun). It's gross but you really understand how much it stops. Some protection is better than none at all. Since you can be asymptomatic and pre symptomatic and still highly contagious MASK THE FUK UP

FL isn't dropping - it's creeping back up again - in line with when they recently opened everything back up again. It takes awhile for cases to build up momentum. Look at how they bumped along for many weeks before they blew up this summer, only this time they've re-opened with a much higher base then it was then.

          I’m a Doctor and sadly, you’re mistaken.

Are people in Europe wearing masks?

Dr. Scott Gottlieb, former commissioner of the US Food and Drug Administration, said he believes the United States will cross the 100,000 cases per day threshold sometime in the next couple of weeks – or maybe even this week.

"We'll cross 100,000 infections at some point in the next couple of weeks, probably. We might do it this week, if all the states report on time," Gottlieb said. "We have to see if states like Florida and Texas actually report on Friday and Saturday, because we might get above 100,000 this week."
Gottlieb added that this is due to the public's behavior and lack of caution.

"The reality is that I think we're not going to start to see a slowdown in the pandemic until you see consumer behavior change, and until you see mobility data start to decline. That's been the lesson of the past surges in the virus," Gottlieb said

They are now, they weren't over the summer. They're also trying not to do a full shutdown like before but definitely bars/restaurants are either closed or severely restricted, social gatherings also restricted. Many businesses and government offices can stay open with certain precautions and for now schools are staying open.

This board offers proof that some people

                  1) still think it's a hoax
                  2) think masks don't work
                  3) are too selfish to care about others (g-damit we're having that birthday party!)

Until that changes cases will continue to go up.

On the other hand, some people believe that the science is already up to speed and very accurate and that creepy joe has a plan to fix everything in 2 short weeks after being elected. They also believe that without a vaccine, this virus can be controlled. How cute ... and stupid!

                          Azz man?

Why are MD’s so bad with science.
Why are MD’s so bad with math.

As a profession, engineer’s have provided the best analysis. MD’s quite frankly suck.

They got complacent and went on regular summer holidays, had everything open again. They're burnt out like we are, but that doesn't mean they (or us) will skyrocket like last spring. Many of the countries are doing more limited actions vs last spring in the hopes their economies aren't crushed again. Certain things like dining in restaurants just can't happen right now, but if people ask responsibly other things can be open.

Can we hit 100k positive test in a day.
                              Sure we can.
                              It will take 1,350,000 test.
                              Will that happen this week?
                              Yes. Why? Election.
Labs have saved up results to release this week.

Does any of this matter? No.
If you look at positive test per million people
Yesterday France, Spain, UK, and Italy were all much higher then the US.
BTW Germany was just slightly lower then the US yesterday.

                                Now do deaths ?

Deaths are now similar to seasonal Flu.

                                Nothing like spring

                                Time to move on.
