You cannot equate summer sports with fall sports.

Why not - is soccer played differently in the summer? I didn't think so. As others have noted, sports have been played all summer. In school they will be apart, won't even be with half the students, will be distanced on buses AND wearing masks. They will be supervised by adults at all times. Between sports and school there's less time to hag out with friends - which kids have been doing all summer, largely unsupervised.

Soccer is a player's game.

It's where the decisions are getting made that makes the difference. In football, most are being made on the side. In soccer, most are being made on the pitch.

a real-time results test will roll out in a month. probably too late for fall sports, but for school, etc. it will be a game changer. will know on the spot if someone has an issue and don't let them into school. will tamp down spread to a large degree.

"The CIAC’s meeting with the Department of Public Health is early Thursday evening and it’s likely they won’t release any details until Friday morning.

The CIAC has said from the beginning that their plan to play this fall is fluid, meaning whatever decision comes out of the meeting on Thursday is only good until the next meeting".

Per st gov. each district has to make their own call if CIAC gives the green light. They have to facilitate whatever that will require. Every entity is looking for guidance from another, so many acronyms.
