Level of education attained (better educated = more likely to take it more seriously).
You speak as if the Town “‘ demographics “ would offer favorable support for your rebuttal. Quite the contrary. I know, true facts can be troublesome to accept against constant , ongoing propaganda.

Seems you refuse to accept your town may have been luckier than others.

Shocking that the more densely populated CT counties had more cases and deaths, even on a per capita basis. More minority populations, more high density housing,

and most crucially - more breathing. You aren’t going to catch this from a cow fart.

That isn’t much of an answer, is it? Regardless, what is important is to look beyond the propaganda served up on a daily basis and look at the granular data, the facts. Sad to say, for sure, but out off the approx. 8300 Deaths in CT from” COVID related “ causes since the start of the pandemic ,only 4 have been for ages under 20. Again, sad to say, more children die from accidental drowning each and every year in CT. But here we are, with many, many children forced to wear masks all day in school.

and those many kids in masks help keep covid case numbers down and schools and other things open. even though their risk is low they are spreaders and so is the school environment. if you take a crap attitude about masks, so do your kids. most kids are totally fine with it because they get it.

the vast majority are not fine with it and try to skirt the rule whenever they can by not wearing them properly...

Please demonstrate specific scientific evidence that cloth masks, which most children appear to be wearing , definitively do, or have reduced the transmission of the virus. Also, why haven’t children been mandated to wear masks during flu season , each and every year for the past many decades? Additionally, there have been more COVID deaths in the US this year , even with the vaccine, then before the vaccine was available. Once again, facts vs Propaganda. The CIAC says for this winter sports season, vaccinated athletes do not have to wear masks. This appears to be inconsistent with your opinion regarding masks.

Completely not true for 6th grade and below.

my wife teaches third grade and would disagree with you...do not conflate the desire to stay in school with their friends and being fine with it

The virus must be racist too ... its systemic you know. Could it be that more densely populated urban areas had many more people sitting around crowded apartments all day because they were paid by the government to stay home for 18 months and that a high percentage of people that lived in these locations happened to be minority and minorities also just happened to be the group that most willingly, on their own accord, chose not to get vaccinated? Hmmmmm .... I guess it's still the man's fault here!

Great point and I agree with you; we should mandate floaties for everyone under 21 whether they are swimming or not!

You and science don’t mix well, but I’ll try here. After 18 months of the world (including kids) wearing masks and social distancing some annual strains of the flu have likely be eliminated from existence. This is a big deal because the vaccinations can now be more precise. Masks you see keep your vapors close to you and prevent the spread to others - they don’t filter out what you breath for the most part unless they are N95. My kids K-4 Farmington Valley school has not had a single case this year due to consistent mask wearing and older family members being vaccinated. Relax though this argument is almost over once most school age kids get vaccinated. Then you’ll realize you were fighting the wrong battle. We just need to control the spread to give science and distribution time to get wide spread vaccination before too many variants were born and the odds of one of them being unable to be contained by vaccination (just like you).
