Delta isn't less deadly (about the same) but its 5x more contagious. Getting vaxxed will help make sure you don't get seriously ill or die from it. Numbers will be up in the fall everywhere but CT will fare much better than many other states because of its high vax rates and generally rational, fact based population.

Not OP... I am all for masks, vax, etc. as are many others. While I am all for helping those in need, I don't agree they should be coming in droves from other countries untested, left unvaxed, and let out into the wild to spread covid. I'm sure many others would agree with this sentiment.

Not OP... I am all for masks, vax, etc. as are many others. While I am all for helping those in need, I don't agree they should be coming in droves from other countries untested, left unvaxed, and let out into the wild to spread covid. I'm sure many others would agree with this sentiment.

What is clear is that Delta is 5 times morre contagious than the original strain (because, as the poster noted viruses mutate). But if you want to remain unvaccinated here's a few stats for you: you're 5 times more likely to get Covid than if you're vax'd, and 25 times more likely to wind up in the hospital. If you were vacinated and wound up in the hospital, you're 25 times likely to survive than if you weren't vaccinated.
