The Score at the Shore tourny that is going to go on this weekend is one of the premiere tourny's around. This tourny is a College Showcase, the real truth about this tourny is there are over one hundred Colleges that will be attending in the boys brackets alone. Let me reiterate to any one with doubts about this claim. If this tourny had any questions of its prestige, then there wouldn't be some of the best clubs in the U.S attending. Every state is represented by the best they have to offer, if you still have doubts about my claim feel free to visit the website for your self and look at the ranking of each team located to the right of each team's name.

Here are my true reasons why I am upset and feel sorry for the players, and the Coaches in Florida who pushed so hard just to get their teams in. I am fully aware of the behind the scenes makings of what was done to get these teams in, and the problems that High School has become. My simple argument is this. Do you really want to play College soccer? There are two teams that are in this tourny with players who are still playing and their teams have now moved on to play in the State Finals of High School in the 4A division. Starting with FB this team consist of about six players who play on a club team that was recently accepted to this tourny. The thing is they play on a club team who is pretty good, but doesn't hold the prestige of a Clear Water Chargers or HCU. This club team was accepted, souly because of the persistance of a Jacksonville College Coach who pulled some strings to get this club team in the tourny. This Coach did this because there are some good players who he wants to watch and feels that this tourny would be a great oppertunity for them to show-case their skills againts some class opposition.
The second team is know all too well NEASE! There are Five seniors who play on this team who are the nucleus of this team. The reason why they are at the level that they are is because of there skills, and quality opposition played againt brought fourth through club. This along with the outstanding Coaching of their club Coach is why there skills are top flight. These Five are players who I am really worried about. They're great players and deserve to move on to the next level, and provided they have their heads on straight and play well should play at the D1 level. Don't worry I am also well aware of the J/16 crew that also are in the same boat.
These players will go and play in the game friday againt MI and more than likely give one hundred and ten percent. Lets hope that this effort comes to no avail and they are able to play in this tourny. IF not I hope that you guys don't let your talent go to waste, and some how by the grace of God are able to get signed by a School.
The basis of this post is not to bash High School because it is merely a way to stay fit while on Club break. The fact of the matter is while you play in the finals of High School think about the Four maybe five schools that are scouting if that. In contrast to the possible Hunderd and some odd nuber of Coaches watching in Jacksonville this weekend. You are not just hurting yourselves but the other players on your team who must play out of position this week end, who told College Coaches to come watch them in they're true positions. Think about how bad your screwing over your team mates and just as impotant, the reputations of the Coaches and people who pulled strings and played so hard so you could get into this tourny.
For all the young kids that play, Club is the real reason why you get to play at the next level. High School is merely there so you can laugh and play against players who are below par for there age, along with Coaches who haven't got the slightest clue about soccer (diss-missing the handfull of High School coaches that don't try and put a wedge between real soccer "Club" and some shockingly horrific kick ball).
