High school system works way better. The bottom line is the linesmen are so awful they never have the proper perspective so this is a moot point. If we had good linesmen, maybe the regular system would be better, but they just aren't . Refs stink everywhere, this is just the lesser of all evils.

In terms of the HS refs. I think 3 refs with a whistle is just plain dumb. Instead of one guy on a power trip you have 3!!! Yes the refs in club are bad, but they are usually the same refs in HS and on top of that you get bad refs in the World Cup! Just my .02

i hate to point out the glaring error here, but somebody has to do it. Far from your description above, the AR's role includes calling fouls, determining goal kicks or corner kicks, and most crucially, when a player is offside.
in making an offside call, an AR must maintian a line-of-sight even with the last defender, and perpendicular to the touchline. This piece of geometry is the most effective way to determine if an opposing player is, in fact, "behind" the last defender at any given moment.
If an AR is on the pitch with the touch line behind him and out of his peripheral line of site, there's no perpendicular visual refernce to judge a close offside call. Of course, sometimes (especially in HS ball) the call is painfully obvious. But in a close contest the perspective is crucial.

Also works well for when there is a quick counter and center can not catch up.
I would like to see club change to this system.
By the way I am not comparing the level of soccer play or ref skills between soccer and club. Just talking about the ref system.

There is currently no plan in place to replace the double dual officiating system in FHSAA soccer.
