Alexei Reyes, Jeremy Huynh and Andrew Buser each scored as Jesuit defeated Plano West 3-1 in league play.
2 La Costa Canyon (Carlsbad, Calif.) 21-0-3 2
Johnny Espinoza scored twice and Cal signee John Fitzpatrick added a goal as LCC defeated Rancho Bernardo 3-1 in the CIF-San Diego Division I quarterfinals.
3 El Toro (Lake Forest, Calif.) 23-1-3 3
Jacob Kaiser and Robert Hernandez scored to lift El Toro to a 2-0 victory over Newport Harbor and into the CIF-Southern Section Division I semifinals. El Toro will face No. 25 Loyola on Tuesday.
4 Sachse (Texas) 22-0-1 4
Sachse needs only one win in its last three regular-season matches to secure the district title.
5 Jesuit (New Orleans, La.) 31-0-2* 5
Season complete. Louisiana Division I state champion. Mark Reuther scored twice and was named MVP as Jesuit capped an undefeated season with a 3-1 state final victory over Captain Shreve. Jesuit's top player, Patrick Mullins, a junior who has verbally committed to Maryland, missed the state tournament while competing for the Region III team in Argentina.
6 Clements (Sugar Land, Texas) 16-0-1 6
William Morse scored all three goals in the team's 3-0 win over Kempner, then had a goal and two assists in Clements' 5-0 win over Travis to remain undefeated.
7 De La Salle (Concord, Calif.) 23-1-1* 7
Season complete. CIF-North Coast 3A champion. Garrett Biel's header in the second overtime lifted De La Salle to a 1-0 victory over San Ramon Valley in the final. The Spartans ended the season on an 18-match undefeated streak, which included five wins over FAB 50 opponents.
8 Belton (Texas) 19-1-0 8
Belton fell behind 1-0 but rallied for a 4-1 victory over Bryan to cap another two-win week.
9 Melbourne (Fla.) 28-2-0* 10
Season complete. Florida Class 6A state champion. Melbourne completed a boys-girls 6A title sweep with its boys' soccer victory over Boca Raton in the state final. Melbourne's only losses this year were to 4A state champ Merritt Island and 5A state champ University. Melbourne, however, finished first in its league ahead of Merritt Island.
10 Klein (Spring, Texas) 13-1-5 17
Klein's balanced scoring attack has six players with four or more goals as the team enters the final two weeks of regular-season play.
11 Boca Raton (Fla.) 25-2-1* 13
Season complete. Florida Class 6A state runner-up. After knocking off Wellington, Boca Raton was tabbed the 6A favorite, but fell to Melbourne 2-0 in the state final.
12 Wellington (Fla.) 23-1-2* 14
Season complete. Florida Class 6A region quarterfinalist. Wellington's undefeated season ended with a 2-1 playoff loss to Boca Raton in a meeting between two of the state's two-ranked teams.
13 Iolani (Honolulu, Hawaii) 14-0-1* 15
Season complete. Division I state champion. Nick Goo had two goals and two assists as Iolani won its first state title since 2000 with a 5-2 victory over Mililani. Iolani, the state runner-up last year, has been in the state final five of the past nine seasons.
14 Palo Alto (Calif.) 21-1-3* 16
Season complete. CIF-Central Coast Section Division I co-champion. Palo Alto, ranked No. 1 locally, played local No. 2 Bellarmine to a scoreless draw after four overtimes in the section final. In the semifinals, Palo Alto rallied past FAB 50-ranked Watsonville 4-3.
15 Plano (Texas) 14-2-5 34
Plano is riding a 17-match undefeated streak and the team is coming up on a showdown No. 1 Jesuit next week.
16 Holland Hall (Tulsa, Okla.) 19-0-1* 18
Season complete. SPC Division I champion. Holland Hall, undefeated in 31 straight matches, defended its title with a 2-0 victory over John Cooper. Memphis signee Jon Wright ended the season with 35 goals.
17 Merritt Island (Fla.) 17-2-4* 19
Season complete. Florida Class 4A state champion. Tyler Starr scored 44 seconds into the second overtime to lift Merritt Island to the program's first state title, a 2-1 win over FAB 50-ranked and two-time defending champ Nease. Merritt Island opened the season with a victory over Melbourne, yet finished third in the conference - behind Melbourne.
18 Highland (Gilbert, Ariz.) 19-5-1* 22
Season complete. Arizona Division 5A-I state champion. After defeating Brophy Prep in the state semifinals, Highland sent off 10th-year coach Tim Barmettler with a career-ending 1-0 victory over Red Mountain. Alan Puga netted the game-winning goal.
19 Brophy Prep (Phoenix) 23-3-1* 23
Season complete. Arizona Division 5A-I state semifinalist. Brophy Prep lost to Highland in the state semifinal. During the season, Brophy Prep posted wins over Bellarmine College Prep (Calif.), Millikan (Calif.) and Watsonville (Calif.).
20 Bellarmine College Prep (San Jose, Calif.) 17-3-6* 27
Season complete. CIF-Central Coast Section Division I co-champion. Bellarmine claimed its 14th section crown with a scoreless draw against Palo Alto in the final. This largely underclass team defeated San Diego Westview and lost to Brophy Prep (Ariz.) during the season.
21 Westview (San Diego) 17-3-2 24
Amir Panah and Dylan Perry each scored as Westview defeated Poway 2-0 in the CIF-San Diego Division I quarterfinals.
22 Millikan (Long Beach, Calif.) 26-3-2 26
Joe Torres scored eight minutes into the match and Millikan's defense posted its 19th shutout of the season in a 1-0 victory over West Torrance in the CIF-Southern Section Division I quarterfinals. Millikan faces St. Francis in Tuesday's semifinals.
23 St. Ignatius (San Francisco) 19-3-4* NR
Season complete. CIF-Central Coast Section Division II champion. St. Ignatius claimed its first section title with a 3-0 victory over St. Francis. The Wildcats make a major jump in this week's rankings on the heels of its title and a strong season showing against league rival Bellarmine College Prep (tying twice in the regular season and defeating the Bells in the conference tournament). St. Ignatius finished league play behind Bellarmine.
24 University (Palm Harbor, Fla.) 24-4-0* 24
Season complete. Florida Class 5A state champion. Alexandre Millette and Andrew Smith scored as University edged Tampa Freedom in the 5A state final. During the regular season, University defeated 6A champ Melbourne, and in the playoffs, University defeated East Lake (avenging earlier defeats) and Tampa Jesuit on the way to the final.
25 Loyola (Los Angeles) 20-4-5 41
Loyola routed Servite 4-1 in the CIF-Southern Section Division I quarterfinals to set up a semifinal showdown with No. 3 El Toro.
