FHSAA Re-alignment

This has been on other boards, but it needs to be here as well. FHSAA has put out the "tentative re-alignments" and we have until 2/20 to voice our concerns.

Many Classes and Regions have been re-aligned and not all seem equitable. For example: Class 2A- R1 now would only have 17 schools while R2 would have 37 schools. Region 2 schools need to have their Principal / AD contact FHSAA before 2/20. Other classes / regions have similar problems and need to do the same.

We have had our AD send in a letter but that doesn't mean anything will change. Region 1 includes the Panhandle and there are major travel issues out there. That is what has caused the discrepency (in my opinion). I am afraid that the FHSAA will see budgetary and travel concerns as a higher priority than sending an less competitive teams to the state final four.

Isn't their concern always budgetary...
Maybe Obama will bail us out?
What will the private schools do? subsidize the public schools travel?

Yes budgets will always be cited as the reason. I don't want to subsidize their travel but I might have to be willing to travel to some schools in order to get something done. I am sure I am not the only one.

i can't believe how much providence complains about what district or region they are going to be playing. just win your games and play with the cards you are dealt. i never read about the boys basketball coach whinning about playing ACD. he just coaches his players to be better and now he is beating them.

No one is complaining about the region we are in. We have to get past St Johns to get out of it anyway. We will play the cards that are dealt. However, if the deck is missing some cards, the game is not being played fairly. Do you honestly think that a region with only 14 teams is equal to a region with 25, 29, or 33. Forget about who is playing where, from a pure numbers perspective, it is wrong. Especially when the FHSAA stated that the regions would be even split by numbers. Also, if all of the other Jax teams had been moved to a new region, there would be no issues. Why only the 2A schools?

BTW, we aren't the only ones complaining, we just seem to be the people everyone points out.

st, all you do it complain about everything. from your goalkeeper not playing then coming back, you have home school players, playing sjcd....blah blah blah blah....... all you do is complain...

and yet you take the time to complain about about my perceived complaining.

I have never complained about my GK not coming back. Did it hurt, yes, but that is life. She will get a full ride somewhere playing softball so more power to her. I have one home school player and I have never complained about that. It is other people who complain about that. Lastly, I never complain about playing SJCD. That is what makes us better and I would play them even if I didn't have to. If you don't like it, don't read my posts. If you don't like me, I will get over it. If you coach, let's play each other. Than we will really have something to discuss.

I am complaining but I not complaining but your complaining about my complaining please don't read my complaining i am only complaining cause I am a computer teacher, who's keeper quit, I am 2a and get no respect, I can't beat SJCD, i am now in region 2 still with SJCD, i play possession soccer and everyone else plays kick ball. But you know what????? I DO NOT COMPLAIN.

New districts are up and OFFICIAL. Also newsworthy is that FHSAA is consdering lowering the max number of games from 25 to 20
