There is a strong possibility that Santa Fe will play at GHS tomorrow (Thursday, December 6) as an add-on game. This would be a good test for Santa Fe, as GHS has beaten Eastside and Vanguard this year. They also lost by only one goal to a tough Navarre team. I will update you as the information comes in.

Last year Santa Fe beat GHS at home 2-0 and then lost on penalty kicks against them at the Bobcat Invitational(although the game was officially considered a draw 2-2).

he also had a shutout against fort white. so thats 2 shutouts in only three career games. pretty impressive.

          You may be right.

So far he's allowed 0.33 goals per game and has stopped 95.2 percent of shots that have been on frame.

Actually, GHS and Vanguard played to a 2-2 draw.

I thought I read differently. My mistake. Another mistake I made was saying that S.F. beat Eastside 2-0 last year and then lost to them in penalty kicks. I had meant to say they beat and then lost to GHS. Actually, they did beat Eastside last year, come to think of it. I think the score was 3-2 and was played at Citizen's field. This year Santa Fe will really have to be focused to pull that off again.

As it turns out Santa Fe did not play GHS tonight. I will keep everyone informed of any upcoming additional games or, God forbid, cancellations.

                Santa Fe 8
                Hawthorne 0

Prior to this game, Santa Fe coach Nick Miller asked the Hawthorne coach if his Hawthorne Hornet team would like to play the Raider's JV team in their next scheduled game between each other, considering Santa Fe blanked them 8-0 last game, even while holding back. The Hawthorne coach reportedly insisted to play against the varsity team, nonetheless. In response to this, Coach Miller brought up some of his JV players, while sitting out some of his best starters. The result was still a 8-0 win for the Raiders, which was stopped at the 59th minute due to the Mercy Rule.

Regular JV player Tony Waters had three goals and one assist in the victory. Other standout performers included JV player Raj Moy, who had 14 steals and only 2 turnovers while playing defensive center back. He also added the game's final assist. Jay Jett was given player of the game honors for his 2 goal, 1 assist high energy performance.

The Raiders, whose record improved to 8-1-0, can clinch the #1 seeding for the District 3, Class 4a playoffs with a tie or win against Middleburg on Thursday.

I have watched a couple of games and know they are doing fairly well with only a few losses. I know a few of their good players but don't want to mention them without having a better overview, for fear of leaving out a deserving player. Perhaps, I will do a little more research, or if anyone knows more they can comment.

Santa Fe Clinches District 3 # 1 Seed

The Santa Fe Raiders clinched the #1 seed for the District 3,Class 4a playoffs with a convincing 4-0 thrashing of the Middleburg Broncos at Middleburg Thursday night. The victory comes at the site and against the team that eliminated them in the District semi's last year. Revenge is sweet in the hearts of the Raider players.

The win improves the Raiders' record to 5-0-0 in their District and 9-1-0 overall.

Thakura Borrerro led the way offensively with two goals and two assists; while Syami Erving controlled the ball on the defensive side of the field and Shyam Allard controlled the middle. Goalie Justin White recorded his fourth shutout in five games since replacing the injured Chay Jansen.

The scoring started in the 8th minute of the game when Alex Wigglesworth received a cross from Borrero and kicked it in; only after his first attempt hit the pole. Borrero then got a goal of his own from a feed by Naveen Allin only one minute prior to halftime. In the second half Shyam Allard scored on a corner from Thakura Borrero, by slaming the hoping ball into the lower right corner of the net. Borrero closed out the scoring on a penalty kick in the 66th minute.

Syami Erving was named player of the game by Coach Nick Miller for his stellar defense. Playing in the back for the first time this year, Erving stole 14 balls and ran down a forward from behind who was on a break away.

Shyam Allard led the team with 17 steals. Between Erving and Allard working with the rest of the team, the first 70 yards of the field were controlled by the Raiders in what proved to be their most sound game of ball control of the season. Josh DeGrove played along side Allard and also did an admiral job in the middle.

Justin White, the Junior who plays middle linebacker for the varsity football team and led the District in tackles this year, has now only allowed 1 goal in five games. His converted save ratio is close to 99 percent.

The Raiders will have plenty of time to enjoy their accomplishment, as they will be off until the Bobcat Invitational on January 3rd.

Santa Fe seems as if they are doing quite admirable this year.

They should contact Orange Park High school to try schedule a game, They seem as if they would be well matched.

That's nice of you to say but I think the SF would have a hard time with Orange Park.

SF is doing well and good in their district but Orange Park would beat them pretty easily. They have much more talent, which comes from being a bigger school in a denser area as far as soccer talent goes.
