Delaying the deadline and then mass emailing out again about the tournament is a sure sign that participation is way down, but expected.

Ecnl clubs have no reason to support other ecnl club coffers . Nor do non ecnl teams. No more votes to sway to get leagues.

Actually, the deadline was extended and the email sent because of the number of teams that were asking whether it was too late or whether they could still apply. As I said in post #29, just like last year, there will be more than 200 teams playing in this year's tournament. In fact, even before the deadline was extended, there had already been more than 200 teams accepted for this year's Tampa Bay Labor Day Tournament.

So why was the deadline extended twice and why was the email sent out to everyone? Including the teams that already has registered?
There is only one reason that a deadline is extended, a lack of teams, as simple as that.

Don't you have something better to do than to give an opinion about something you have no idea about.

So glad you are so interested in the Tampa Bay Labor Day Tournament, but if you really have been following the tournament or were part of a team or club staffing at your club, you would know that teams struggle every year with the first tournament of the season especially this year with US Soccer's age group changes. Clubs can't begin creating the new season's rosters until 8/1, so the beginning of every season, there is a race to get each team's Got Soccer team account set up with all of this season's rostered players. Coaches & Team Managers have been waiting for their finalized GS team accounts so they can reg for the tournament. For those teams that started emailing us on 8/18 asking for a few more days to get their app in, the date was extended to Sunday, 8/21 at 3pm. The email blast was sent out through our Constant Contact tournament distribution list which is a totally different system from GS - no way for CC to know who or who hasn't registered in GS. A separate email was sent through GS to those that had already applied to let them know of the extension.

The Florida Elite Ivitational with over 200 teams was able to pull it off this weekend. Why can't TBU who hosts two weeks later?

Not sure a response is really warranted here as you don't even have the right club listed LOL. So you're a TBU hater?

The Florida Elite Invitational also has the same challenge, but probably less so because 91 of the teams playing in their tournament are their own teams.

The old tournament director never had a problem getting teams. Maybe the President of the Chargers should grow a set, and send a certain person packing.

Old tournament director? There is no old or new tournament director. It's the same guy as prior years and he already had more than 200 teams this past week.

So Chargers host this one? Link to applied teams?

Nothing to brag about. The tournament has been around for a long time , and all he can get is little over 200 teams :(
With that great location/fields it should of been a 500 team tournament by now . 1/2 the teams are Charger affiliates...so what is the accomplishment.

Tournaments like Weston Cup, West Pines, Kelme Cup, ACDC, Champions Cup get way more teams and have been around less time.
