You were not being challenged on the fact that SCU won in the State Cup final. However, the same 2 teams met just a few weeks later (played on June 24th) at the USYS Region 3 Southern Regionals and had a different result. Sunrise won 3-0. Easily verified by looking here:

They are both good teams - and capable of beating each other. SCU kept the team together for the most part and added a couple of new players as well. Not sure about the Sunrise team roster changes. I would guess that Sunrise had the edge last year - but that doesn't mean that the same would hold true this year. SCU and Sunrise are definitely in the top 5 at this age group.
