]We carry 35-40 players per age group. Our top teams/players will continue to play in the MLS league, and our reserve players will play ECNL.

Little kids don’t need to travel to get good Competition (that’s for mommy and daddy’s ego). MLS league is a complete joke in terms of organization, And logistics. All the former DA clubs in Atlanta area told MLS To pound sand when DA folded. The people that run Atl Utd are not dumb and don’t care what mommy and daddy think. They are trying to run a real program and this makes perfect sense.

I think its more about previous MLS clubs seeing now is the time to get into ECNL before the door closes. Surely you don't think MLS elite is staying for the long haul.

fc dallas is in Ecnl as well, they had to join to get games as the former DA clubs in the area all joined ECNL. Problem in Florida is the soccer level is really bad, doesnt matter what league you join. Travel teams will beat 50% of the DA teams in florida.

I bet in most of the country it will collapse. In Florida it will get 1 year because all the former DA clubs joined. It’s not a sustainable footprint. Application process just opened up again and they will take on everyone that applies to show sustainability. However it will be a third rate league. Nobody can get on the same page in this country there are so many leagues because all anyone cares about is $$$. We don’t develop we just run and hope for the best! It’s all we got. We are in a death spiral!
