Please explain the 'why': NEO (DOC) double duty as FC (Team Coach)?

    Agent Anderson.

Away from this thread for 3 hours and nice to see rival DOCs chiming in (so predictable).

-NEU prohibits moonlighting for the DOC role, subject to one carveout: DOC is region IV ODP coach, club determined that was a good thing, and allowed him to continue in that role. FC pays NEU for services provided to FC, so that NEU has additional resources to backfill his time.

-Combined club gives more leveraging in negotiating with vendor. My god they better use it! Any kickbacks from new vendor is going to the club, and in a strange development, not to the Timbers, some out-of-state franchisor, or anyone else.

That is all, now bug off you trolls. Spending time on here cost me money, even if it is fun.

Historically, all the top players from both clubs leave to go play with other top players at clubs that have long standing records of college placement assistance. I don’t see that changing. The United coaches will not be able to build those long standing relationships overnight. It will take time and effort. The serious players who don’t want to be the guinea pigs in this experiment will leave for ECNL or FC or Westside by u15, leaving the United teams unable to compete at high levels. There will just be more mediocre teams at “United PDX”. They will rule Division One in OYSA.
Key word is HISTORICALLY- does not mean that will happen going forward...

How does United propose changing this? Are they bringing in new heavyweight coaches with experience traveling teams and extensive tournament and college connections? What is really changing other then the commute to practices for the DA and new “A” teams?
Some current u14 families are already asserting they don’t want teams that have been together for years broken up to bring in better players from the east side.

I would bet some current U14 families would be upset if new players came in from NEU or other clubs. I’d also bet those families would be from the players at the wrong end of the team sheet, the ones being displaced by new players that went through a normal tryout process.

If your DS moves off the A team, he would be eligible to play for the next best team which would be located in your geography. If you don’t like the B team, you can definitely go and play on the A team at THUSC or Aloha Utd!

Either way, don’t expect a mass walkout by the kids who make the new team, because player number twelve didn’t make the cut. It just isn’t going to happen

Or entire teams can choose to stay together and just move to a boutique club in the area like ADF or Foothills.

Neither BSC nor NEU have any boys or girls teams in the top premiere levels in OYSA at u14.
So are they hoping to take the top nine from each and make a top Premiere level OYSA Team that practices all over town?
Seems they are splitting those neighborhood teams up for no good reason.

DOC's recipe for employment and paycheck.

Silly parents it's not about you.

Let the recruiting begin! How many boys from FC will follow their current coach to "United"? That could be a paradigm shift of talent.

                        I predict ZERO!
Most boys don't really care for him!

Don’t be too sure about that.

It would be really sad to see this coach recruit players away from the club that gave him his start and that was willing to get him involved at this level.

He will beg them to come. But it really doesn't matter. The only point of this silly' 'little' DA is to save the MLS DA Timbers man hours evaluating local pre-teens who might one day have a cup of coffee at their Big DA, then get dumped back into the HS & OYSA cesspool.

It's a sick vicious cycle, masked under labels and false promises of 'Development', 'Identification' and 'MLS HomeGrown'. With fools like this clown (the neighborhood club coach) selling a 'United' slogan for the moment. That has absolutely no substance or value.
