If any of you choose teams because of that you are failing your child!

If you have a child that wants the highest level then you want to play for a team that trains four days a week with a quality coach for a club that has a periodized schedule with individual performance plans for your child. If you do not have any of the above then you are failing your child.
By definition then everyone who chooses Thornz Asylum fake-GDA is failing their child. But everyone already knew that. Thanks for the confirmation.

Thornz Asylum has never had any quality to neglect.

It’s four days a week plus, can’t be at the top with three hours a week on the ball.
Nope. MVLA ECNL. And you are incorrect about what it takes to be top three.

The 4 days a week training mandate for GDA is unnecessary and overly restrictive.
So your point is you can be a great player on 2x per week? Hmm ok. Maybe its more of a reflection of how NT camp call ups work and what it takes to win games in youth soccer in the USA ( pace, power, limited technique)

No wonder every country has pretty much caught us up, even TINY ones.

LOL. That team is composed of small, technical players who are athletic but not the Uber-athletes like the ones that populate the rosters of Socal and Texas teams. The point is that it doesn’t take a mandate of 4, 2-hour practices per week to develop great teams and great players. Players who want to be great are doing their own work on their their skills on off days anyways.

Yup. We will see. The senior women’s national team currently has one full time starter that comes from that club/system, and a 20 year old from that same club/system just got her first cap for the senior national team last month. Stanford had 2 starters from that club/system on last year’s NCAA Championship team, and one of them was the most outstanding player in the women’s college cup.

Judging from their system’s track record, the chances that they will last a long time are a lot better than you can imagine.

You lost us at LOL. I don’t even think kids use that anymore and they are the ones who invented the acronym. You need to update your wardrobe.

The term "LOL" long predates the Internet, whippersnapper. Now get off my lawn!

LOL was first seen in the 80’s.

America Online, when millions of people discovered chat rooms in early 90’s, was where it became part of the lexicon.

Kids didn’t get involved until the smart phone era.

Now turn down that rock n roll music and get off my damn lawn!

Tryouts are over. Good luck to all the new teams. No matter which patch your dd wears, the end is basically the same. All 3 leagues get girls into D1 all the way down to lower level local D3 schools. Regardless of patch, top players will get into D1 or top academic D3s if their #1 concern is academics. The lower level players have many NW lower level D2 & D3 schools to choose from and 80% of Oregon girls will happily end up at one.

Been over a year since the last post on this thread. ECNL was gaining steam at the time. Who is now gaining steam? Feeling like ECNL is still pulling ahead.

                              Thoughts?

I thought the talk of high school soccer was pretty strange to begin with. But more and more I am hearing that high school aged girls want to play high school soccer. I have been to some games and have to admit that the soccer isn't super disciplined, but it can be fun. When there is a cheering section of students that then come down onto the field after the games that is fun. Winning the league championship and getting a t-shirt to wear around school is nice. If you were Jesuit and won the state title, that would be a huge source of pride.

I don't know what the solution is for GDA, but it is pretty clear that banning high school soccer is hurting them across the country. GDA is not going to work if only 20% of their players are high quality.

Girls soccer in the US would be much better off if GDA closed up shop and the best players all gravitated to a fewer number of options. The best players need to play the best players.
