You guys love to hate DA because your little Johnny didn’t make it.

If it fails these kids will be back in the same leagues and player pool. Your kid still won’t be on the top team and your teams will be crushed

You mean the 'city' of Beaverton, right?

We are saying the same thing.

We don't have any club capable of living up to the ideals of this label.

Ignorant 'Branding' has been proven an effective tool to hook suckers early, in time the truth is revealed. see local club da & ecnl efforts as evidence.
          End

It still did one thing- it consolidated most (at least 90% imho) of the top talent in the Portland metro area into fewer teams which is a win. Playing and training with and against inferior talent does not help development. If I had any say I would like to see maybe 4-5 teams state wide playing with Seattle area teams of the like for our top players. One team south (Eugene) that would grab southern Oregon’s top kids, a north (to grab Vancouver and Portland proper) a West (to accommodate Beaverton, Hillsboro, sw pdx) and maybe a midvalley that would include Salem wilsonville West Linn etc.

And all would then feed TA at u15 and TA would be involved with the coaching staffs, developing curriculum for group and individuals, and maybe even pull together the “prospective” future TA players from the 4 teams to train up 1x per week or play in prestigious tournaments in the couple years leading up to the u15 season. DA is working everywhere else, we just don’t have enough population base to have 7 teams and such a fractured parent group as a whole

It did nothing to change the fabric of any of the clubs, their culture, player pool, competitive level and coaching staff quality. It did allow a few clubs to be raided of their best (to Timbers DA) thereby maintaining parity in the remains of this little club da.

Present day at the younger ages u12/13/14 the latino teams make up close to 40-50% of all the top talent (physical/tactical early maturity), none of these clubs are part of the 6 club little da platform.

Westside, FC & Eastside have always had the lion share of younger aged talent regardless of league affiliation or label.

BSC/NEU (Utd) & LO/WUSC (XF) have never been any type of talent factory at the younger ages, nor will they ever be.

Washington/Vancouver (WaT) has been a talent factory for decades- but with the population growth in the metro area over the last 10 to 15 years those (wa.vanc) families aren't inclined to drive to Hillsboro, Beaverton or Clackamas anymore, so they stay put until HS ages when they drift to pdx metro area clubs.

This reality presents a clear case for optics of it being a pure branding effort--btw u12's are first the to go bye bye..followed soon by the remaining two ages u13 & u14.

Put a fork in this masquerade.

Nice little turnaround for Vantucky. They were the doormat last year
