Since this is the D3 Women's Soccer board, could be inferred by a thinking person that the reference is to THE NCAA D3 Women's Final.

... Except for DA and GDA and then families and friends are excluded as well.

Yea she "fell" to Division 3 and had to go to MIT lol. Idiot. Maybe she felt going to one of the best schools in the country was better than fulfilling Daddys wet dream she play Division 1

Don't forget that in your little scenario daddy had to pay the full freight for it all. The whole "merit money is better than an athletic scholarship" spiel is just a false narrative because there is nothing that precludes a scholarship athlete from receiving similar amounts from a D1 school. The only limitation is the money can't be tied to soccer and available to every student. If a kid has the sort of brains to get into a school like MIT AND the sort of soccer skill to play at even a modest D1 level there are plenty of lucrative options out there for them at the D1 level.

Right .. as if scholarship money to schools like Stanford, Duke, Georgetown, Northwestern, Vanderbilt etc is something to scoff at. If your kid is a very smart student AND a very good soccer player there are lots of options. The problems only pop up when one half of that equation is not up to par. That's when the excuses start flying.

Yeah, and if I was a unicorn and a pegasus I could fly and stab people with the horn on my head ..... there are not many of the unicorns you describe and 99% of them will have to get real jobs in 4 years anyways .... even the pro women soccer players since that pays less than an assistant manager job at boston market

Good argument / if this was a Talking Life forum.
Issue is that this is Talking Soccer, and that logic is quickly decoded as the words of a disappointed father who learned Mia wasnt that good. #Academics1st

Oh, I see you were over here too spreading your poison.

BTNT's logic always in inherently flawed because he always starts with the wrong suppositions which he presents as 2+2=4. Inside of his own circular logic he believes his conclusions are iron-clad and follow necessarily from his faulty presumptions.

Truth is that if you told many parents and their kids when their kids were 10-12 that pursuing high levels of club soccer would result in being a 3 year starter and All-UAA and/or All American at U Chicago a good number of them would enthusiastically say "where do I sign up"? And not "why do it"? His drop-down, facing saving mantra very likely reflects a small minority.

Georgetown is a fine institution for some but it is no mit. Some majors would be stronger at one and some majors stronger at the other. Maybe a player would accept a lower academic level for their major but that could be a significant mistake. Please don't have your player do that.

Ever look at the suicide rate amongst students at MIT?
