Feel bad for the 08 kids because now there training gets taken over by some D liscense coach next year. What a disaster !

Playingvallot more games is not better. Should be 30 games per year not 60 like in Rec

The thinking behind it was solid - expand your base to try and capture and develop more talent at the younger years, train them how DA wants etc. But like all of DA the onus is the clubs to actually execute the training. USSF put little effort into monitoring these clubs. They needed too many clubs to work this program, many of which are of dubious quality. In addition, families would prefer to be at a club that has a clear path for their kid, not a limited one. A full DA program will always be preferred.

Please. USSF can't even scout HS aged kids well. There was no scouting going on at the younger ages except by other DA clubs who wanted to poach talent.

they shouldn't, and especially not at the younger ages and at some of those poor quality clubs. A badge isn't a guarantee of quality. Find quality coaching close to home, it will be cheaper and better for your kid. If h'es got the skills and the personal drive at U14+ and can make a squad, great.

Earlier this evening, we informed all of the boy’s Development Academy Clubs that beginning next fall, the DA will no longer offer U-12 programming. The main points we want you all to be aware of are:

The U-12 division will continue for the remainder of this season, as the transition will not occur until the 2019-20 season.

You mean like the U17 or the U20's that have won CONCACAF and went on to the World Cup? The talent pool is good.
Scouting isn't bad, but some of the coaching and player selection can be poor.
