Was thinking about the 03 teams, some really good players on both teams...

Better to keep families happy and where they are than experience the wrath of moving a kid down who has been there awhile - even more so if there are siblings at the club.
Oh god the hoops a club will jump through to keep a multi-tuition family paying is absurd, though. Add up the tuition, camps, extra trainings and multiply by 2 or 3 kids and you're talking real $$$ and they will really go out of their way to keep those people happy.

Senioritis is a real thing that every team contends with. Many teams don't go to events that last year, just play the league games (and getting a full roster can be a challenge sometimes for coaches). But clubs can also bring in younger players too to fill in gaps. Anyway, point being no much point in changing up the 02s unless it is an unusually young team with more sophomores.

yes they do. But also lower roster A players and top roster B players are often very interchangeable, as the poster said. So why muck about with team dynamics etc for very little improvement in performance?

Because few are interested in tolerating nonsense. Some top players will walk away from clubs and teams with such shenanigans. Does the club cares about retaining talent or about playing games? Depends.

please stop this nonsense. commit does not always equal good. if he works for you, fine, but stop telling us about commits like that makes him good ..it doesn't

plyer 15 ??? hahahahah thats funny. try player 3 or 4. Its all about conning enough parents into believing their kid is better than the rest. Reality is there are maybe 3 or 4 really high potential kids and the rest are all pretty similar

At least at WC, the annual cost of WC NE NPL team is much cheaper than many EDP clubs. Also, NE NPL teams are pretty much guaranteed acceptances at Jeff Cup and PDA Showcase, so less rolling the dice for players inviting college coaches to their tournaments.

The idea of "fair and open tryouts" doesn't really hold water anywhere. Players currently on the team will of course have preference over new players unless (1) new player is clearly superior or (2) current player (or parents) has commitment or attitude problem. Very few clubs will cut an existing player for a new player of similar or marginally-better talent.

So here you have 2 clubs paying Kaz. He will choose the best teams. He will accommodate his favorites from the GDA

ECNL is taking over the GDA and it will be ECNL2 - no High School allowed but the show case events will be combined.
