the physical game will always prevail in women's soccer. Muscle and Hustle wins every time in women's soccer.

The US has nothing to worry about and all this talk of "they are catching up" is balderdash.

The US has been up and down at the youth level for years but dominant and the #1 team in the world at the senior level for years at the same time.

Nothing to see here, move along and watch the US collect another WC trophy next summer.

I appreciate your "made in America" pride but you are just ignoring some pretty significant trends. How do you explain the fact that so many of the "impact players" in women's college soccer are coming from other countries? There's no level of play that is more physical than college and these women from other countries are out-playing the U.S. girls in many cases.

Something needs to be done but when? When does NCAA meet to amend its rules?

why. all the businesses are making money. winning youth world cups does not make anyone money. if it did, someone would care enough to win one.

You keep telling yourself that if it helps you sleep better at night. The US has never dominated at the U-17 World Cups but the US has been much more noticeable at by the time of the U-20s where we have made the final four in 6 of 9 competitions including winning it 3 times.

We have now been once in the past 3 cycles and this is the first time we have never made it to the qualifying round.

This is no surprise. USSF has seen this trend and it's why we had all this turmoil with the creation of GDA. Our system promotes the best athletes, 1v1 players and dribblers. Luckily we have college and (much more importantly) the professional leagues to help develop other aspects of their game that can fit into the team concept (passing, combination play, positioning, etc). How long that will hold up as we fall behind technically . . . who knows. Maybe another 2 World Cups. We should be the favorites to win this year and should be a contender for the one after. Past that . . . we may not make it out of or two the qualifying rounds. It will mostly be a European dominated tournament just like the men's World Cup is now.

Assuming that the Women's game doesn't adapt. The men's DA is actually producing some pretty high level players signing in Europe these days. If GDA can also start producing a handful of the same we might be fine for decades.
