Cards had 12 shots on goal (33 shots taken/2 goals).
I'm experiencing some good wind gusts as well making my connection slow.

Houston scored an own goal for the win.

            Tonight’s Game Iowa hosts Rutgers

While Wisconsin are clear pacesetters in the Big Ten, both of these teams can look to keep up with a win here in Iowa. A senior-heavy group that includes defender Hannah Drkulec and midfielder Natalie Winters have fired the Hawkeyes to their 12-win mark. Defense remains a hallmark of Rutgers, despite conceding two goals in three of their past four games. Keeping it close here would be important, as Amirah Ali, Nneka Moneme and Brittany LaPlant have all popped up to score big goals of late for the Scarlet Knights. Even if this one isn’t pretty, it should be a tough, competitive match.

Iowa?! Yeah, but Rutgers is the only ranked team we’ve got around here.

Featured Ivy Game Brown hosts Princeton

              Tomorrow at 3PM on ESPN+

Biggest game in Brown-town in a while, at least for the girls. Must win for the Tigers if they want their postseason hopes to stay alive.
Boy those sports writers can lay it on thick!

Around here? Rutgers is in NJ over 200 miles away.

Such a bunch of horse poop this stuff.
Memphis is just a fun/interesting story. Don’t expect them to beat top teams, but will likely win their conference and make a tourney appearance.

Funny that a coach with USWNT experience wouldn’t dip into our national camp pools for recruits and instead load up on internationals. Must know where the real talent is. It could be the next evolution where women’s college teams look more like men’s with internationals making up a larger % of the roster.

No further than UMaine is yet you would call them a local team.

There are some dumb posts her for sure. You think YNT players are lining up to go to Memphis? As far as internationals, there are plenty here already. Hardly a new trend.

Yes, plenty of dumb posts. OP said “national team pool” which isn’t the same as YNT. Hundreds of girls get called into the pool, but only a few dozen make it onto the YNT. Probably plenty of those in the pool would like to attend Memphis. Nice city and school and good D1 program with a winning record past few seasons.

As for internationals, yes nothing new that they exist, but the numbers are climbing faster than some realize. Currently, men’s programs on average about 30% and women’s about 17%. Those numbers have both doubled from 20 years ago and are set to double again in the next 10-15 years. Memphis is just ahead of the curve with the majority of the team being internationals. I’m sure tons of schools will try to emulate their success.

19 Utes on the squad (no surprise given religious affiliation)

                              % of internationals 0

% of eastern US kids 0

All the rest from western US and Hawaii.

National team pool is an invention by parents of kids whose coaches get them to Id2 or other ID events. Please show me the list of the hundreds of girls in the NT pool.
