Are you involved in ECNL at all?

His bio at Rutgers which notes:

"O’Neill has identified and developed some of the premiere players in the state and in the country through PDA and his work with ECNL."

So yes, a HUGE conflict of interest in particular since he bring kids from his PDA club onto his Rutgers soccer team (probably for some sort of percentage scholarship money).

But right now his only motivation is $$$. If you don’t believe me, type his name into a google machine and read past the villa stuff. And since his motivation is only $$$, he is perfectly fine allowing an unqualified dad to do his job for him. Time to wake up people.

Anyone else ready to play “how many practices will be canceled this week”.
We all know this and like him anyway.
Because it’s all about our Mia, and the back room dealing that got her to where she is.
      So, there.

A coach can be involved with coaching or training HS athletes provided its within a 60 mile radius of the campus. PDA < 60 miles from Rutgers.

Interesting so if the coach of UConn basketball wanted to coach a girls AAU team that would be completely ok with NCAA if within 60 mile radius?

I’m wondering if the dad coach or the other coach see this thread and what their thoughts are. This is the most popular Pennsylvania thread which is a benefit as it draws people to come read, like I just did. (Not all of it.) But just curious if the dad and the other coach know about it. Or if the club knows about it. Is it CRUSA?

60 mile radius? Where did you get that from?

He isn't just coaching, he is the DOC of the organization (PDA) and the head coach at Rutgers. He is part of the process for ECNL as to who gets picked for PDP, who gets picked for national training centers, YNT call ups, etc.

He should not be allowed to benefit by having kids he has put in the hat for call ups that are playing for him in club and going to Rutgers to get that additional training and international exposure. He is grooming his college team essentially. Why the NCAA ignores this is befuddling.

                  A few things:

                  1. It is 50 miles
                  2. Ironically basketball is the only sport where this by law doesnt apply
                  3. The rule has many loopholes and is interpreted this way... a coach can not recruit a player if s/he coaches or trains that player at the club level and the player resides outside of the 50 mile radius.
                  4. This info can be found in the ncaa bylaws

I like him too. Still doesn’t make him qualified.

He lost his say on YNT call ups once the DA was formed. One of the many reasons PDA took thier ball back to ECNL. And now PDA, Hawks and ECNL's Christian Lavers bitch about their kids being left out. Meanwhile US Soccer was very clear about the path they want YNT players to follow.

Gotta love MF people coming onto a FCB thread (the oddest thread in the history of message boards) to trash PDA. I thought this topic died with Youth Soccer Talk. Whats next, back to trashing NJ Wildcats and SJEB? Give it a break Dom go back to stirring the pot on the NJ threads. These PA people have enough of their own issues/battles going on they don't need your bs

Don't be dumb. This is all FC Bucks people trying to deflect from the problems at the club.

You do know PDA has strong way before MO came to be the DOC? None of this makes a difference. PDA are the best girls club in NJ and have always been the best girls club in NJ. This is not to say that there aren't other good clubs. One thing we can all say, FC Bucks are a sinking ship.

FC Bucks are not doing well. FC Bucks are one of the worst clubs in the ECNL, that info is based off of league stats and can be found on the ECNL website. Do people at Bucks really trust DM or CF to help them get out of this mess? Fact, either DM and CF go, or FC Bucks is asked to go, say bye to ECNL. Your future playing in the ECNL won't be much longer if things continue to move in the same direction. As far as I know, no changes have been made to improve the club. How have things been since DM and CF took control?
