That would be the best thing to happen to CT soccer. Both clubs to partner with both genders.

to many clubs in a small state? they come from 3 different locations all within a 45 minute drive of each other. why wouldn't you want that? a 45 minute drive to play a quality opponent and have a competitive game. or would you rather drive 3 hours to NJ to get the same thing or worse. worried about losing players to each other? yes you might lose a few back and forth but by the time girls turn 13 /14 there not moving clubs because of the social aspect of it.

Take a seat on the pine OW. Your arrogance of NT bs is over. Enjoy a run at state cup titles vs Sporting, Beachside, Ajax and all the lil clubs. Just sit down and take a load off benchwarmers.

you clueless people forget what it is all about. the development of the player! just because you couldn't compete at a high level as a kid doesn't mean you should live through your kid now.

Ah, definitely an OW person .... trying to deflect about others living vicariously through their kids endeavors ..... no club resonates this more than OW.

The CFC United U14 cattle call this year is going to be Thunderdone.

One of the best ways to develop players is to bring the best players together. OW and more broadly, GDA wasn't able to do that, hence its quick demise. There needs to be consolidation of talent in a small state like CT to truly develop. OW needs to get past its arrogance, admit their vision was a failure and do what's right for the future of CT soccer. Trying to keep its teams together and move to inferior leagues would be the height of arrogance at the detriment of kids that love the game.

I wonder how many of those ow 07 studs will stay now at ow since they cant offer DA anymore. cfc united might get a influx of those talented 07s.

They’re all leaving. A parent doesn’t club shop their kid to play for the B team. Just depends on whether they head to FSA or CFC.

In OW's defense, this was most definitely not a failure on their end.

They are/were a Boy's Academy club that also had a girl's program. Opportunity came along to move from NPL to DA and have a higher end product. No brainer from a business perspective.

The outcome here however was highly predictable. The only losers here are the kids who served as lab rats and gave up high school sports. I largely blame that parents for that move though. None of that crowd are committing to any college programs that weren't attainable without forfeiting HS sports.

                            Let the games begin.
