USSF announces new teams added for 2019. No split of the U17 age group for now. So much for contraction (on the boys side)

Meanwhile ECNL added another ex-GDA club in the Northwest, adding to the GDA departure tally http://www.eliteclubsnationalleague....019-20-season/

Unless Thorns start financing their players travel, I can't see this working for them

If Reign folds, increasing Thorns travel expenses are going to make DA a lot less attractive.

It was already unattractive. Costs aside (not insignificant) the time spent traveling is absurd. Now there's fewer teams to play too. USSF would need to scramble and fill gaps, but there's really no one left to fill holes with of any decent quality - they're all in ECNL.

When you have to give your product away, and you still don't can't capture the majority of elite players, your product is defective.

Problem is that soccer girls mostly come from wealthy families here. Rich families can choose whatever they want, they don’t need cheap soccer. In fact, just like country clubs, the wealthy usually prefer expensive leisure activities because it keeps out the poor. Make GDA super expensive and elite and you’d probably get more of the rich soccer girls attention.

When Was Eastside a GDA team? (adding to the GDA departures..?) They had an 'Alliance" to send top players to Reign. are you saying Reign academy is closing and they are sending all of those players to Eastside?

This actually might work! The majority of girls playing elite soccer are from wealthy families. Wealthy families generally like exclusive products.

But we already have ECNL for that.

“It is true that Reign Academy is "alive",
but without money and troops, it is a

doesn't have two nickels to rub together,
let alone support an academy system.
                          Only possibility however improbable
is Washington Premier who has ECNL
will switch to GDA, since they are close
by to the new home of Reign FC in
Tacoma. If that happens, PacNW ECNL
should send them flowers thanking them
                          for the new players. ;)”

The only people worth suckering are the rich ones. They have MONEY!!

Well done US Club- and the 2 Oregon neighborhood Clubs having the families paying to play in this league (ECNL)

Don't stop, keep pushing them to pay to travel.

Hey it's not a cheap sale, it's a useless spend. Which is an impressive feat in itself.

                            Love it.

I am failing to understand why you tie Reign DAs future to having another DA program in the Seattle area. This is not required and since they only play a local league opponent twice in a year the overall impact of not having a second team in the city is nearly irrelevant. They do not need Crossfire, PacNW or Premier. In fact, Reign leadership prefers to be the sole DA choice in the Seattle area.
