Oregon Teams - Nationally Ranked Boys 07 DA

Take it for what is worth, but a RPI ranking on socal board has the following regional teams ranked highly in 07 boys DA:

    Top 1/3
    Washington Timbers - 16
    United PDX - 31

    Middle 2/3
    Crossfire - 61
    FC Portland - 76

From the thread: "For example, the Washington Timbers are probably not better than the LA Galaxy or FC Dallas but they have a better record vs their Oregon group peers and so are ranked higher"

Yikes! What good is a ranking system that doesn't take into account strength of competition?

Vantucky has played and beat the top three Seattle teams.

A lot like diluted Ecnl teams playing each other and claiming they are good when they don’t even see the best teams and are probably 3rd 4th best in state

You are talking about 07 soccer so it is not worth all that much.

Thread has exactly 0 to do with ECNL, but thanks for playing.

That's a fair point this US CLub incestous creaton; consisting of average clubs nationwide travelling to play each now resembles an appalachian family gettogether at highway rest areas . Banjos not optional.

It does take in to account strength of competition however at the young age groups there is way less "cross-competition" to properly represent the RPI calculation. In other words this age group is too young to have meaningful rankings....

It will be interesting to see what TA does next year for this age group, if they have an 07 team. They usually draw players from FC and Westside, but I don't see that happening here.

Correct. Most of the good 07s aren’t playing on those 2 teams. Some are playing up a year already and some are on independent teams.

                              1-0 Vantucky

Lots of opportunities on goal to very little opportunities. Vantucky dominated.
                              UPDX is very athletic.
