I don't think anyone is jealous of this at all. That's not the life I would want for my daughter. Her peer group is made up of women 10-20 years older than she is. Nope, not for us.

It seems more like a publicity stunt. Feel bad for the kid.

She played for the Thorns first team in a preseason match tonight.

          https://www.oregonlive.com/portland-...ason-game.html

Moultrie came on in the second half, with the Thorns trailing 1-0 to the US U23s. That score would be the final margin.

It’s so sad. Such a media freak show. Feel so bad for that girl!

She just played with the GDA U16/U17 on Sat and got the only goal of the game.

That team is dreadful. She helped them pick up their 5th win of the season (record now 5-11-6) and moved their GD up to a whopping -16 for the season. I'm sure this is way more beneficial for her life development than attending college.

Or playing with her old u16/17 team in S. cal. - an actual good team where she is only one of the very good players. Daddy can’t take that. Wants her to stand out. How about play her all game on the U19 Thorns instead of AB? Won’t do that because AB is better... If she’s good enough to play with the Thorns senior team, shouldn’t she play on the decent u19/18 academy team and not the dismal u16/17 team? None of this makes any sense unless it really is just a publicity stunt.

Any publicity the sport of women's soccer can get is better than having to endure watching it on tv or god forbid live.

Sad. She misses out on the college experience for her parents bragging rights. Now stuck in limbo on a bad team.

“If you’re stuck at the bottom, your interest and passion for it drops because you never get a taste of success.“

Are you Fox News? You place the quote totally out of context with the article to make it seem really sh*tty for her, but the coach talks about the importance of tasting success and being in the middle, not just the bottom. And he in no way suggested that is where she is at. Give her a break. If it works out for great, if not, too bad.

She and her parents came to the Thorns precisely so she’d stand out more on a bad team. She wasn’t near the best player on her old CA GDA team, full of play-ups and many better players. Playing with Thorns Academy is all about the media and money. In fact, she’s happy the team stinks, while she takes in the media attention and money.

Amazing. Someone posts a link on OM, and the thorns-hating trolls come out in force.

Stuck at the bottom is right.
