Anyone hear any rumors of the Revs having a U12 academy team soon?

The Revolution will not be forming a U12 team.

Because they would lose all that revenue from all those kids signing up for RDS and camps for the next 2 years....

Lost revenue PLUS it would cost them money to run. They don't want spend on the teams they already have. With the Revs name it's easier and more profitable for them to nab players at U14 that have been developed elsewhere.

          From the USSF website.
In the effort to influence and impact development at an earlier stage, U.S. Soccer will add an Under-12 age group to the Development Academy program beginning in the Fall of 2016.

I agree that The Revs don't want to add a U12 age group and tend to do what they want but they may be forced to do it if the rest of DAP follow the directive.

While it is what is needed to improve (the earlier kids start proper training the better) the directive will put tremendous strain on DAP clubs already taxed financially. They're already charged with either making DAP free or at greatly reduced fees. To then now require another team per club do the same is going to be tough for some clubs to manage.

Not the Revs of course....but even for MLS teams that stings. Non MLS clubs can't be happy

Revs are presently looking into the affiliating themselves with a New England based prep school to offer boarding to its Academy players. LA Galaxy and Philadelphia Union have begun this already. A la European models.

won't work. there are no prep schools willing to accept the academic credentials of several of the players in the revs academy

Well, there might be a few but they're not where you'd necessarily want your kid to attend. The good ones don't need the Revs so there's no benefit to them.

Revs does not need good prep schools either, just a school willing to take their players. It is not like they are looking into getting their players into Ivy.

Uh? Prep schools give out full scholarships to dumb hockey players every year, and soccer is coming close to them. Sorry, "need based" financial aid, not full rides. My mistake.
Prep Revs Academy boarding school = instant ISL championships for the school.
