Yes, but the enrolled part is more than a detail. My son did online courses during PDL, but he was in college. It was very difficult to do, and definitely effected his level of play.

That is fine. I just don't appreciate the idea that this kid has to now scrape the bottom of the academic barrel. He has real options. People can be so hateful.

Let's leave it at that. Good Luck to him.

Please get out of your American bubble and discover the world around you. Virtually everyone in Iceland speaks English, and in fact are very highly educated. it is a fascinating country and I highly recommend a visit.

Not correct. Players are offered scholarships during their junior or senior year in HS (or earlier), pending final Adm Ofifce decisions. Some will clearly shine in college, and yes it is correct that coaches will "favor" those given money, but that is more to see if they can contribute early, so the coaches can know whether to re-up the scholly. Most players who get $ get partial tutition, not full since as others have said there are only 9.9 per year in a fully funded program. But at my kid's D1 school, there are a bunch of players who got some scolarship $ who got some early time, clearly were not going to contribute, their time fell off and they left the team after fresh or soph year. So for the above post it is quite possible that he indeed got scholarship $ based on his excellent academy record, but once there could not crack the ridiculously deep lineup and perhaps $ were not renewed, so he left for the hope of more PT and perhaps some support at a good school.

The college list is now pretty long, but just wonder what the extent is of players who are not listed. On the sidelines the last couple/few weekends, I've heard of six kids going to higher-level D3 programs and a couple of D2s who aren't on these lists. Presumably most of the D1s are listed (except maybe some Ivy-types), but I'd guess there are a decent number of D2s (who tend to happen a bit later in the process than others, and the schools typically don't announce?), and lots of D3s (particularly for those not at the higher levels).

The extent of missed players probably can't really be known. There are still last minute things happening even now. Some people don't want their names out there at all. Based on the trash talking on this site (and probably on the sidelines) I don't want my kids' name listed anywhere either. He landed at a quality D3 he's happy with academically and athletically. The people we care about know and are happy for him. It's no one else's business. We didn't even do the fake "letter signing" for the local paper.

Congrats to any player who can land a spot at any level in college. I wish them all the best.

I would say fairly long. I'm knowledgeable of the Liverpool 18s and three of their players are listed above, but in addition the following were also recruited:

Matt White - Liverpool FSC - Mount St. Charles - Wentworth
Luke Lindholm - Liverpool FSC - Wachusett - WPI
Dale Dubinsky - Liveprool FSC - Sutton - Keene State
Corey Davidge - Liverpool FSC - BMR - Framingham State

This is but one club team. If you factor in other higher level teams, I'm sure you'll find others.
